Nice ring Krysta! Don't worry, something will work out for you eventually.

On a side note...........I just bought a second dress for the reception. I worked the bridal show this weekend at the Direct Energy Centre. It's a short 50's style dress. Got it the bridal show but it was missing the belt. Any recommendations on style? I don't have a picture of me in it but you can see it online. Google mori lee 6716. Any help would be apprectiated?

Hello Ladies, I am new to this site...seems like a lot of people are getting married in Jamaica! I am getting married in Mexico and invited around 80ppl....well with the combination of other vacations planned, people not being able to "afford it" and all the Canadian beatings and killings in Mexico lately, my guest list is maybe 8 :'( Anyone else have that problem?

Hey Jen,

most of my guests have already been to Mexico and no one is worried... killings happen everywhere, you have to be smart about where you are and what you're doing. Plus, where we're going, the mayan riviera, it's a super safe place. we're lucky to have a group of 62 :)

Cute dress!

I would go with maybe a satin or taffeta ribbon and add a flower with feathers. You can try making one yourself or buying one, i've seen lots on etsy.

Alternatively you could go with someting with some bling on it. A sash with some beading/crystals might also look really pretty rather than a flower which could compete with the floral design already in the dress.

Hi there,

We are getting married in Jamaica and while our guest list was well over 100 people, we are likely going to be a group of about 35ish. For us people simply can't afford it, or planned to vacation elsewhere already and there were quite a few preggars! lol! At least five of our guests are expecting, just had babies or will have them right around the time we get married. When we opted to go the destination route we told ourselves that we should be prepared to go just the two of us. We're very thankful for the people that are coming, it means a lot to us and we know it's a lot to ask people, it's a big expense, it's time off work, etc... There are some people who can't make it though we really wanted them there (FI's two best men), so that's a bit of a disappointment but at the end of the day it's out of our control and out of our hands :)

Thanks for your post! A lot of my fam havent been to mexico and are scared to go, they would rather go to the dominican or jamaica or bahamas. We are going to an incredibly safe area - Los Cabos. FI and I agreed on this destination and despite the lack of people coming will still continue our wedding planning there. I completely agree with you, we live in a small city and had two drive by shootings, a murder and a baby thrown into a dumpster all within a matter or months! Bad things happen all over the world, even in your own city...even if it ends up being just my fiance and I (and our kids) on the beach with the judge we are still going to do it...just would be nice to have some family there!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
