I'm glad you'll be getting your money back. Can the photogs who cancelled on you make a recommendation? I'm considering Sun Gold.

She is fairly new to this business and just building up her portfolio. I had my engagement, boudoir, wedding and TTD shoots with her. She is very easy to work with. You can fin her on facebook lexi.lee@groups.facebook.com or add her on facebook Sher L. Matte. And if you message her, tell her that it is from me :D

So you just paid for her airfare/hotel and she covered your whole wedding?

First of all take a deep breath, I know EXACTLY what you are going through as with just a little less than 3 months to go our photographer who we had booked 10 months in advance also had to cancel.  It is a gut wrenchingly awful feeling, I was in tears, I was angry, I was frustrated I was sad.... I think I was a little in denial.  The whole experience was less than positive BUT you will figure it out.  We lost another photographer before finally ending up with our current photographer and I have to be honest I sort of feel like everything happens for a reason.  I learned a lot about my original photog during the "difficult" time and realize that maybe they werent the right fit for us afterall!

Our New and wonderful photographer has been an absolute dream so far and though I have never met her in person (and some people may think that is crazy) I am very very excited to work with her!

I am so glad to hear you got your money back for the travel which you paid for, that is a HUGE sigh of relief. Now you have a few options

1) Hire someone local to your destination

2) Find another photographer from close to home who you may take with you

3) Find another photographer who's work you love and fly them in!

Our new photographer is coming from texas but I adore her work and it is well worth it for us!

I am sure everyone on this thread can give you many many suggestions to solve this dilemma as soon as possible!!

DONT WORRY, though it is hard to believe right now as it is a total shock it will all work out in the end and everything happens for a reason!!!

Sending lots of well wishes and positive vibes your way!!! Let me know if you want any photographer contact info!!!!

PS.  I am off to check out this "Robert Bradley photo"  doubt he'll be in business after this stunt!

Hi Ladies,

So we got back last week from our wedding! Sadly here in Alberta it has been -40 degrees with the wind chill...crazy! Our wedding was amazing! We were a bit worried the day of the wedding when I woke up in pain...I had to eventually start antibiotics for an infection.

The sky cleared and the sun was shining for our ceremony. Our photographers from outside the resort, Photos in Cancun took over 1600 photos and they gave us the cd's that night!! We now are narrowing it down to 250 that they will edit for us! We also got 50 other prints and a CD from the resort photographer. Below are a few of my favorite photos.

I will still be on here likely trying to sell some wedding things. I just wanted to thank all of my fellow Canadian brides for all of your support, ideas and just your thoughts throughout the last year or so. I hope all of you upcoming brides have an incredible day, week and honeymoon. Take as many personal photos as you can so you can look back and remember the fun moments you had with friends, family and of course, each other!

I agree! I am from Alberta but I lived just outside of Toronto for a few years when I was longer. There is something to be said about mildly yet cloudier winters. Which is why we are seriously looking at moving to Ottawa!

I am from Eastern Ontario, but lived in Alberta for 5 years! The first time I experienced -50 with the windchill, I think I cried! (and the tears probably froze in my eyes...lol)

I did enjoy the fact that there was no humidity out West, but it doesn't make up for the crazy winters in Edmonton! :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
