I am having that problem with my brother who is going as a single so far....it's an extra $400 for him too...so I told him I will cover the difference...It's not in the budget and since my parents can't come I really want him there....(he will be the one walking me down the isle) so I offered to cover the difference if I couldn't find him someone to room with:)

The only single on my side right now is my sister who is still waiting to see if her boyfriend will be coming.  I don't know what to do if he doesn't as I don't know who we would pair her with AND I don't think she wants to spend the $400 extra dollars for a single room.....

@Canadiangirl,

We were planning to use the white boards to leave notes for guests as torilynnsmith mentioned.

Thanks for the warning @torilynnsmith,I hadn't really considered possible room invasion scenarios, but since we are very heavily leaning towards a small hotel I think we will be fine using them.

A lot of other brides have mentioned using white board door hangers that would allow guests to leave notes and such to one another.  Not sure if everyone has read the different threads on door hangers but many brides mention they aren't the best because it alerts people that you are a wedding part ie valuables and also if you include the date they know what day you will basically be gone all day.  I think they work great at a smaller boutique style hotel, not sure if you have all seen the martha ones that are white boards and you check "at the beach, dinner, at the pool etc." Those are the ones I heard the most negative about!

That being said we are still considering doing them because I think they are a great OOT filler! We will not be including our wedding date on them I think we will just do the "PLEASE DO NOT DISTURB - we have been up late partying with the Sweeney Newlyweds (or Sweeney Wedding Party)" something like that!

Heres the Martha One - I have NO rights to this file I just simply downloaded it from the site

So is anyone as crazy as I am and has already started their planning thread?!! I am 6 months out tomorrow but there is SOOOOO much I want to include in my planning thread and I don't want to forget anything!!!! I have just been doing it in word so that I can be sure it is good to go in less than 185 days!!!!!!!

I have a few questions thought before I pour my heart and soul into my planning thread ( I just want to share EVERYTHING)

- Is it just supposed to be pictures?  We all know I LOOOOOVE pictures but I also LOOOOOVE to write so I am sort of treating my planning thread as a blog post lol - People can skim through and just see pictures but there will also be lots of info

- are there planning thread rules?  Things I should or shouldn't include?  I basically plan to include EVERYTHING as I said lol

Just wondering what you guys are thinking/planning on doing or what your opinions are!!!   I want to detail my DIY projects as well but am thinking I may do a separate thread just for that... thoughts?!

HELLLLP ME!  I have been on Vistaprint all afternoon...wondering if someone knows the answer to this!  I have reached $237 worth of freebies, with lots of free things still to order, but now when I put them in the cart, I get charged for them.  Is there a cap/max on the $ value of free items per order you're allowed?????

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
