Norma - when I went back to get more gatorade singles they were SOLD OUT! We ended up doing the rest of the bags with propel (gatorades version of vitamin water basically)  I am a little disappointed we didnt get enough gatorade singles to start with but what can you do?  Numbers increased drastically and I wasn't prepared for it!

I have to share this with all my fellow Canadian brides as it is something we were debating for a long time (FI and I) and finally came to a decision.

CHAIR SASHES - FI actually made this decision after seeing pictures of the ceremony site with and without (as well as reception site) that he wanted them for the added colour and to be honest I was avoiding them but I did agree they were necessary.  Well our resort rents them for $5 a piece (YIKES!) so that was not going to happen as we near 80 people SOOOOO I went to searching and found an ebay seller that sells a variety of wedding items.  I believe I discussed this on the thread before because I was going to split with another brides but because our numbers kept growing it really didnt work out.  Well I went ahead and ordered my chair sashes and they are AWESOME!!!!!

I ordered from http://stores.ebay.ca/vlovelife  they are based out of hong kong but offer FREE shipping to Canada, gotta love that!

For 100 chair sashes came in just under $60 and they arrived in less than 10 days (TOTAL, not business days!) I wasn't expecting them for a month!!!!!

I almost went to post this without a picture BangHead.gif but realized I would hate me for it soooooo here is a picture of one of the sashes on one of our dining room chairs! They are nice and long so there is no worry that they wont fit the chairs!

IMG_3467.JPG sorry it's sideways... don't know how to fix that!

and for those of you worried about transport here is how they came packaged.  They are very lightweight and packaged so well that I am just going to toss them into the suitcase!

They have satin sashes as well, they are a bit more expensive!  I am just so pleased with this purchase that I had to share! Can you imagine if I'd paid $5 a sash! Robbery!!!!

I would NOT have paid $5 per sash, thank goodness my resort has orange for free or I would have ordered mine also. Reminds me, I should confirm that, LOL.  I did however have to order my table linens, it would cost me $30 per table to have IVORY linens. Can you believe that, IVORY, I thought that was a very basic color. Oh well, I ordered all four tablecloths for less than $30. Kiss that smile27.gif

When they arrived did you have pay any additional fees such as duty or import?  I've been looking for some myself and going to check out your ebay seller.

Just as another option for chair sashes, I ordered organza coral sashes for $5.90/pack of 10. I got them on sale earlier this year for this price, and they're on sale again now (normally $6.90/pack of 10).   I don't have a picture of them unfortunately as they're already in my mom's stash of things to bring down in her suitcase, but they were absolutely perfect!  They seem to be the same price as the other ones suggested, but it might be worth a peak just for more colour options, etc.

Here's the link: http://weddinglinensdirect.com/8xorsaco.html.  They also have satin sashes and tons of other linen options.

Nope!!! I think they usually send things as a "gift" but I could be wrong.  Whatever they do what you are charged on your credit card through paypal is the only payment!!!! NO TAX EITHER!!!!!!

I looked there originally but if I recall shipping was a little pricey?  Mine worked out to $0.59 a piece so it is the same price but would depend on shipping costs from weddinglinens direct!

Where are you located?  Do you want someone close by or just in Canada?

Choosing your travel agent is VERY important as you need someone you are comfortable with and can work with for the next several months!

hey there!

I have not read great things about that site, google them & reviews and you should be able to find something. During my search, I contacted several places including Flight Center, CAA, itravel, red tag, etc... I wound up with an independent TA.  If I were to do it again, I would likely go with CAA. They had great customer service, responded very quickly to my questions and had comparable rates to the rest of the them. They were also very professional and I'm certain my guests would have had a very positive experience in dealing with them.

Good luck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
