Hi Krysta,

We got pretty killed on duty with these mugs. All costs in - including duty - the mugs cost $2.67 each. We ordered 75 of them. I still think that they were worth it. But be warned! We just got back from our wedding, and eveyrone loved the mugs, but the logo would smudge when in contact with sunscreen. Some looked pretty gross by the end of the week.

We are down to 100 days until our wedding!!  Can't believe how quickly time has flown!!

My girlfriends are asking for ideas for my stagette.  I'm thinking of going to spa for self serve facials and then maybe to hotel room for some drinks?  Anyone have any other ideas??  I'm not really that big of party person anymore.  Went out to much during my university days! Lol!!

Is this during your trip or before?

I know what you mean though... I am not planning on going out like a crazy party either. Plus, I am having a small group, and my moh - and sister - is underage. So our plan is to do a stagette weekend before we go to an out-of-town spa. We are probably going to rent a suite and do some sightseeing, dinner, spa stuff, and drinks and games in the hotel. (Yes, I know how far away my date is... I have a very organized moh and bm!)

Then, at the resort, my bm is planning a 'hen night' for all the ladies there. I think it will mostly be drinks in the lobby bar and general silliness. :) I am not sure what they have planned, but I knew that I did not want to leave out my moh by having a crazy party night.

Ideas from stagettes I have been to/ heard of if you are looking for one NOT at the resort...

pole dancing lessons (they can even come to a house)

belly dancing lessons

burlesque class

white water rafting trip (obviously depends on location) - this was combined stag/stagette

paintballing (also combined stag/stagette)

Concert to something you love - get dolled up and go in a limo

For there, I think the spa is a fabulous idea. Or maybe there is an excursion you would like to go on? Something like swimming with dolphins, snorkeling, anything local... There is a very cool spa experience on a boat in Punta Cana, for example, that I would love to go to if we were having ours there.

It depends on your group, if you want to spend money, and what you are looking for.

Personally, at the resort, I would do spa, dinner, games with the girls. I am sure there are lots of ideas online too.

Good luck and have fun planning!

Hey capecodder!

If it's for before your trip, here are a few suggestions:

- themed night: you all wear old prom dresses (or super ugly prom dresses) and go out somewhere

- dinner & bar

- wine & cheese party and head out or do it at a hotel or someone's house

- spa trip with bubbly

- pub crawl

It really depends on what you want, do you want to get all dolled up and head out? Do you want to have "challenges" all night (ie. you can pick up booklets that have challenges for the bride, or your friends can think them up).

Or are you looking for more of a relaxing day? Ie. spa treatments and a low-key night with your favorite gals?

If it's in the budget, you can do a night away at a cottage or chalet or something with/without skiing or whatever.

I told my girls what I didn't want - strippers, strip clubs, to be dressed up like a stripper or in anything uncomfortable and encouraged them to keep it local (for majority) to go easy on the budget given it's already a destination wedding and then let them decide. They know me well enough to know what I would/wouldn't want (i hope!! lol).

I hope this helps! :)

Thanks for the great suggestions beachnum and peach!!  It is going to be at home before we go away.  I agree with you beachbum - no strippers!

I gave my girlfriends  two options either pole dancing lessons or self serve facials and then going out somewhere afterwards.  I really hope we do option number 1.  I have always wanted to try pole dancing!!

so my FI and i were trying to think of a unique thing to do as a guest book. we came up with having a poster of jamaica and getting everyone to sign it. i was thinking of making it on Vistaprint and having it in black and white but i am having trouble finding a nice picture of the island to use... has anyone seen one?

I highly recomend real touch! I ordered from Bridal Bloom, Judy was fabulous to work with, tehy turned out better (and less expensive) than real flowers. And I've broght them all home for our AHR still as beautiful as the first day I got them!

Wanted to mention that for the bouquets,  I too am torn and am focused on figuring out flowers now. Not sure if I should get real or real-touch. I haven't seen super reviews on the real flowers so far for where I'm going but have seen some really great reviews on bloom bridal for the real-touch. While a little on the pricey side, you can re-sell them! I don't think I'll want to keep them, they'll probably just collect dust but I could absolutely re-sell them and someone else could enjoy them! Just a thought!

Our travel agent gopt us mugs with her info on one sides and we put our logo stickers on the other. The stickers are perfect all still intact and colourful! TA's, not so much. A litle sunscreen and it wiped right off.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
