Not weird at all, it's your day, do what you love! And if that's karaoke, live it up and make it the best night of karaoke ever! I kind of want to have a pinata at our wedding. Hahahaha

I want a pinata too!!!  I've read of couples having them before.  Have you contacted your WC about it?  Let me know if you do.  I was telling my mom two months ago I thought it would be fun! :)

Hello fellow Canadian Ladies! My name is Katie and I wanted to jump in here to introduce myself! I just got engaged on April 6th (yipee!) but we are heading forward full speed ahead to plan our wedding for sometime between march-may of 2014!!!! Our TA is a good friend of ours who has planned other DWs and planned her own ccruise wedding which we attended last year.

I love the recent discussion about pinata and karaoke!

We are still trying to decide on a place that will hold our 35-45 guests and somewhere that will not overload us with extra pricing when it comes to dinner in a semi-private area.

Playa del carmen is increasingly becoming our location I think, but we'll see!

Happy planning ladies!

Hi!

Congratulations on your engagement! I was a bridesmaid in my friends wedding at The Royal in Playa Del Carmen this past January! It was amazing! And we would go back in a second! She was a very low key bride and had a very basic wedding, it was beautiful and memorable!

Enjoy your planning!

-K

Congratulations Katie! There are so many nice resorts out there, and definitely one will appeal to your needs in the Mayan! Have you been down there before at all on vacation?

We set a few criteria for what we were looking for in a resort and then had some travel agents and friends give us suggestions. A good travel agent seems to make a big difference!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
