Tiger balm is great for bites, headaches or tummy aches. I'm also going to make a currency exchange chart so people can easily whip it out and figure out the cost.

Great Idea!! Very practical. What are you going to put them in?

I'm going to buy Avery bags for the medical stuff and then find a bag for the goodies, welcome letter, oh shoot bag, etc. I decided I'm going to buy everything in Canada -I can't stand paying for shipping charges. Just not worth it. I'll be purchasing everything at Superstore, Wal-Mart, Target, Body Shop, etc. I calculated the shipping costs and its just not worth it for me. The only thing I will be shipping is when I visit Las Vegas, I'm going to get Jelly Belly packets sent to the hotel. We can get our name and stuff printed on the packets as favours. Lol.

What is a good budget for photography?
All depends on your budget really, I contacted some photographers that were $15,000 for large packages and others are under $5000. We paid just under $3000 for our photographer (Juan Navarro in Mexico) for 6 hours of coverage on the wedding day and a trash the dress the next day. We got 4 DVDs of our pictures and have all rights to reproduce. There are almost 2000 edited pictures for us to love! We also went with a separate videographer and that was an additional $2500 for 5 hours of coverage. These things were VERY important to us and having a friend or family member take pictures and record us just wasn't the same for us so this is where we splurged the most!

It COMPLETELY depends. Some people even bring a photographer with them, and then pay reduced package prices, or even just pay for their trip.

We went with a company from Punta Cana. We are paying only $1100 for a package that gives us CDs (and DVDs) with both photography and videography for ceremony, getting ready, and family pictures. We get all rights to reproduce and print the images. We paid an extra $300 for them to stay and keep shooting through reception, and an extra $200 for a next-day trash the dress session. Pretty reasonable.

However, while we are getting married in the Dominican, we are not getting married in Punta Cana, so we have to pay a travel fee and for rooms for them (for two nights). That is the kicker, and was a sizeable chunk of change. I am still okay with it though, I guess, since it was a main priority for us. Regardless though, there went our savings on the reasonable package! Haha!

Did you love Juan? We are looking at using him for our photography at the Dreams Riviera and I keep hearing mixed remarks about whether they allow outside vendors or not. Some say yes, others no. I think you just have to really stick up for what you want in Mexico. Was he great to work with?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
