On a happier note, I found these at dollarama today: CHEAP self adhesive badge covers for DIY luggage tags. 8 for $1. I put these together sloppily, but am confident they would look very good if you took care in doing them.

Not sure if you have looked into working with a travel agent. But we have people coming from 5 different locations. We got a group rate. I am not exactly sure how it worked, but our TA just requested the prices from other gateways. We only have about 15 people coming, so it worked out and we still got the 11th free offer.

Change of topic, but what your mom's doing for their dresses? My mom and I can't seem to find anything decent, and when I do hear of something it's usually a matter of the purchase was made in the States.  Any suggestions?

Donno what your mom's budget is, but I just went to Cerulean boutique in St. Albert with my mom and they had some very VERY nice stuff. But also Very expensive. $200-500 range. They get everything right from New York and it's all really lovely. They carry resort-wear all year long too.

My mom has an amazing dress collection, I'll pick her brain tonight about where she gets them in Edmonton.

Im having the same problem with my mom and I get more and more worried as the summer gets closer to ending, seeing as all the fall stuff is already out.  I actually get upset with my mom because she looked for one day and tried on a bunch of dresses and didnt find any, but its only by my sisters urging that she even went out to find anything.  Me and my sister went shopping and picked up some stuff for her to try on and that was a bust. Ive ordered dresses online that was a bust.  She to be honest doesnt even seem to care, and its about the only thing she has to do for this wedding is find her self an outfit and that seems to be a big hassle for her.  Its not like there is going to be a lot of a choice in a month.

I know how you feel, my Mom's been the same way (difficult) about most everything wedding-related.

What worked for me was to go shopping with her and buy something small for the trip (a beach bag, flip flops, a hat or something like that) it was only then that she started to get a little into it and was an easier transition into the harder purchases like the wedding outfit and bathing suit (that was the worst, but I can relate).

Hope this helps

Not sure what your mom's budget is, but my mom got her dress from Storybook Weddings (in PG). She paid around $300 and they altered it, including making straps. She is very happy with it! It took some time to be made, but if you have time to spare, check it out!

Also having this same problem. My mom has no idea what to wear and of course it doesnt help that shes a larger woman and short so finding something shes happy with is difficult.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
