I went to a David's Bridal in the states and they had some very nice designs but the fabric, for many dresses, wasn't very nice. They did have some very cute, and very cheap, accessories though!

Anyways, I figured I would also post about my shoes. I got them at Winners in Mayfield (Edmonton) for 29.99 and they are very comfortable. I don't go there very often and was blown away by their shoe selection!

They are the exact colour of my dress, and I needed a wedge since I want to get married on the sand. I also am short and feel sexier with a few inches added, so i wanted some height. I might decorate them with a few crystals, but for now this is what they look like.

I put a picture from the back too so you can see that its a skinny wedge, not a bulky one..

Also, thanks everyone for your kind words about my dress!

Those shoes are perfect for your beach location! Great Winners find :)

Hey ladies, I know you don't know me very well because I just recently joined, but I was hoping you could help a fellow bride out!

I just entered a contest in which the prize is a trip to NYC to shop for your wedding dress at Kleinfeld's. I'm obsessed with Say Yes to the Dres, so it would be a dream come true to win!

The contest has selected 27 brides and now the public votes (one vote per day) until May 14, and the bride with the most votes will be announced the winner on May 21. I'd greatly appreciate if you could vote! I will try to repay the favor in any way possible!

Thanks for your help & support!

~Tamara~

My table runners and chair sashes came in.

I ordered from tableclothesfactory.com

There are some negative reviews out there, but I ordered anyways since another bride had and said they were great, and they are an amazing price.

Organza Chair sashes came to 53 Cents each, and Table runner came to 1.35 each (after the 10% storewide discount, which I think is almost always on). I also got Organza table overlays, for $5.81 each. I didn't know what our tables would look like, so I just ordered those to see what they would look like. Turns out they are huge, and beautiful in the sun, but I can't imagine a table that is big enough to use it on. I am thinking of using it to decorate our archway haha.

Shipping was $20 but they use UPS ground so there was a brokerage fee for crossing the border. On my $90 order (pre-delivery), I paid $14 brokerage.

They are great! I bought the red, and I was worried that it would end up looking 'tim burton' red... like funeral home, casino red, but they are not. They are a vibrant and beautiful red. When in the sun they have a very slight pinky shimmer, so I think it will be perfect for a beach wedding. Anyways here are some pictures, but my iphone didn't really capture the colour properly.

Tamara,

I just voted for you. I love your story and totally understand how hard it is to be apart for so long. My husband is in forces too. Good Luck with the contest!

You look beautiful, and I love those bridesmaid dresses! Great deal on prices, too!

I got my bridesmaid dresses from the Bay (Southgate) for $97 each. BCBGeneration.

I got the veil and flower addition to the dress at Delica (where I bought the dress). Veil was about $200 and the flower was about $75. There are swarovski crystals in the center of both, and they are Sara Gabriel brand.

Jreist,

These are beautiful. Could you post a picture of the organza table overlays? I don't know what they are, but they sound as though they might allow us to cover our whole table with color rather than just the center, the way a runner would.

Thanks.

Hey ladies, I just wanted to let you know that Canada Post has new commemorative stamps out for spring featuring daylilies! I was so excited to find these because the flowers look tropical and are pretty fuchsia and orange colours, which are my wedding colors. I'm going to stock up because my STDs are going out soon. These can be purchased online or at the post office.

I left them at my parents house (storage issues in my condo...), but this picture is just from a google search. It looks just like this, except I bought the 108 inch overlays, so its for a giant table..

It would definitely cover the whole table

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
