no questions....GO FOR IT!!! I think you also have an advantage because he is trying to build his portfolio he will take a lot more pics and try to be as creative as possible. Sounds like you have a sweet deal! :)

Hi Robert,So i have a couple questions for you regarding doing our destination wedding. i know we had discussed if we pay for your trip that you would do the photos at no cost and that you would be willing to pay for your wife to also come. is this still the case? i think i remember you mentioning (but could be wrong) that your wife is a photographer as well, am i right?if this is the case are you willing to take pictures on more than just the wedding day? i also really want to do a trash the dress session (i am still undecided if we do it on the resort or at a water fall or in the city) and was hoping to maybe get a few pic throughout the week.what do you think?Krysta

And this was his response:

Hi,

Yes of course I would, I would say we could the wedding day complete, a trash the dress shoot (one afternoon), a couples shoot informal(another afternoon) and yes my wife can do candid shots during the wedding while I will be more focused, and also I have underwater capable equipment so we could do a snorkling / underwater themed shoot as well, and incorperate into the trash the dress shoot

I think i should just pull the trigger......ahhh so nervous!

Thats unfortunate but i am a strong beleive that everything happens for a reason. :) Just role with the punches and make the best of it, its out of your control and i'm sure your guests will understand as well.

Be thankful you have time on your side!

I'm sorry to hear this.  When we were first booking our wedding we got quotes from a few companies including sunquest, air canada, and transat.  Sunquest was definetly the cheapest but my TA had worked with them before and had nothing good to say about them.  She said they had cancelled a brides flight the week before her wedding for no apparent reason and she had to scramble to find other flights for that wedding group.  We decided we would pay an extra hundred dollars to not work with sunquest, and in the end transat ended up matching sunquests price.  Its just so darn frustrating!

PULL THE TRIGGER!!! I checked out the website and his work looks good! In fact, if I didn't already pay a deposit for a local photographer I would have seen if he could do mine! :)

2 photographers at the wedding, an informal shoot, a TTD AND underwater...that's amazing for $1500!!! As long as you like the pictures you have seen and you like his style....I don't think you can go wrong.

I too was super confused and didn't know what to do. I wasn't thrilled with any of the work by locals, and love, love, love the work of a photographer in Ottawa that friends have used so after much thought and comparison (costs/work) we are bringing our own photographer.  Thankfully we are using our free concession towards his trip, we still have to pay photographer fees though.  Sounds like you're getting an amazing deal!! We'll have shots from during the week, rehearsal, wedding day and TTD, so LOTS of pictures! lol, more than i'm sure we'll know what to do with but we'll have an amazing variety! In terms of costs bringing him, including travel, worked out to be the same as the better photographers who's packages were much more limited.

Good luck with your decision - pictures are really important to us as well!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
