My husband and GM just wore black linen pants, dress shirts and vests to stay cool (no suit jackets) they looked very good and we bought them at Le Chateau at the end of summer for a great price!

So it seems all of the FI's are wearing suits?! My FI is just wearing a white Guayabera shirt, and either white, or ligtan linen pants.. ( we bought one pair of each and he can decide later.. as it makes no difference to me.. whichever he prefers and feels most comfy in). and then the groomsman are in tan linen pants and then a guayabera shirt in turquoise blue.

I figured us bein canadian and used to the cool weather that suits might be just too dman hot for them! hahaha and we wanted to keep it simple lol

Welcome temporary Canuck!! What brings you to Montreal for so long? Hopefully you can get some of your friends or family back home to do some shopping for you too as you'll find everything in Canada is more expensive...or at least it seems that way!

I don't know where to get anything here so thanks Torilynn for starting this thread. At least now I know the names of a few clothing stores.

I heard of this too before I went to Cancun last November, but then I totally forgot to get my receipts in order. Good news is they only checked a few of our guests bags and they didn't have a problem with any of our decor items or anything at all really(I had split things among my family members for the luggage weight issue).  I think they are looking for people bringing in big quantities of items to resell in Mexico illegally so wedding groups aren't really their targets! Hope this helps you :)

I've heard and read through a few forums saying when you go through customs in Mexico you need to have receipts for all wedding items and that there's a max dollar amount. Do any of you know the actual dollar amount?  Also, does is work on a per person basis? For example if I exceed the amount I'd probably have my MOH or Mom be responsible for the other items. Do you think that would work?

Yes...before driving an hour to the service station and another hour back, I made sure that it was there!  They were really good...not sure who found it, but they locked it up in their safe overnight.  I didn't have any money in it...I've been too busy spending my cash on OOT bag stuff at Dollarama ; )

Actually, I didn't even realize I left it there until 10:30 last night when I went to place an online order for OOT stuff and needed my credit card...geez, between the heat and this wedding my brain is fried.

I noticed Shoppers has Tide to Go pens on sale for $2.99 this week...I chatted with my mom (coupon queen!) today and she has 4 coupons for $1 off.  Even better...$1.99 a piece!

If we were to start a coupon/discount thread for Canadian brides, can the person who starts the thread go in and delete any old/expired entries?  I think that would be kinda important...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
