Has anyone had doubts about their wedding dress?

Recommended Posts

I bought two dresses too. I was able to return the 1st one. I could just tell it wasn't right when i'd put it on. Too many things I didn't love about it. After knowing I loved the 2nd dress I found, I stopped looking. I imagine if I did I'd find something else I might want instead. So I think stop shopping once you know you have something you love. It doesn't have to be exactly what you pictured, but as long as you feel great in it that's enough to make you stop shopping. I really wanted it to be halter, but it's V neck. I probably could keep shopping & find a halter one I like as much but I'd rather just stop now. There are probably 100s of dresses you could love. But, really you just need one.

Nope, you're not alone. I was a two dress bride, and wore my original dress for my TTD session. Even after buying the second dress I still second guessed it, but was happy about it in the end. There were so many other styles I liked better, but this one suited ME the best.

You are def. not alone. I just had a major second guessing episode. I never had that "this is the one" feeling when I bought my dress, but I did love the dress. I was thisclose to buying a second dress; I put the first dress up for sale. As soon as people started contacting me about buying the dress, I realized I couldn't bear the thought of someone else wearing "my dress" so I knew it was the right choice. I went in for a second fitting and now that it actually fits, I love it. You chose the dress for a reason. As long as you loved it when you first tried it on, you will love it the day you walk down the aisle. :)

That is so funny and so cute. Its like the saying "when you love something set it free". lol You tried to sell it and knew it was the one because you could not bring yourself to do it. I love it.

I just noticed you are getting married a few days after me. I can't wait to see your pics when I get back.

I totally sympathize! I actually had the "this is my dress" moment but it was totally out of my price range. Lucky for me I found a dress that I loved (a little less) a couple of weeks later and I am happy that it's affordable and really pretty... I learned that there are SOOO many dresses out there and you could look just as beautiful in any number of them! Your wedding is such a big important day that it's only natural to second guess your decision....

Bottom line - the girls on this forum gave me great advice - on the day of your wedding, you will be so happy and so in love you won't even notice your dress so don't stress yourself out about it!

I have doubts about the entire wedding dress issue in general. I'm afaid to even try them on. But I think it's nautral to envy other things. I LOVE my E ring and wouldn't change it but sometimes I wonder what I would feel if FI picked out the other one (I picked 2-3 I really liked then he picked from there) even though the one I have was my 1st choice all along.

Very true! Everyone has such great ideas on here. BUT I have to remember that my wedding will be my own and I'll love it no matter what. I'm marrying the man of my dreams and that I never second guess!!

Side note, I went to the bridal salon where we put down the deposit on my first dress and the owner said I can put the deposit toward a different dress if I find one I like better. Soooo, I found two that are very pretty. They are pretty much all lace and have a very mexican feeling to them. I will post pics if I decide to buy one (or maybe I can sneak a few pics and then I can take a poll on which one you girls like better ) :0

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
