What photographer are you using?.. My FI and I are trying to decide on one for our ME May 2013 wedding.

Hi everyone!  I am looking at Dream Palm Beach for March 9, 2013 for my wedding.  I've been engaged for all of a  week cheesy.gif and have decided to let it all set in this week and then get back on the planning to see if I still feel the same way about Dreams.  In the meantime...if there are other DPB brides out there who have information and PRICING, if you can share or tell me what you've found that would be GREAT!!!  I got an email yesterday from them to send back a date so I want to see what you ladies advise before I do that.

I am really pretty open for a date.  I picked March 9th because I am in Education and it would roll right into Spring Break.  The deciding factor between March and either June or July will be prices. I  know islands have PEAK and OFF PEAK - Which of these months are cheaper in airfare/accommodations?

My vote is against Spring Break.  Traveling during this time is chaotic.  There is more chances of luggage being lost/resorts being overbooked (this has happened to me twice) ... and crowded beaches.  It is usually really expensive to travel during this time as well.

I'm also in Education and it makes it real tough.  Any chance your board will let you take a week off unpaid?  I know people who have done this before.  It obviously depends on your financial situation, but maybe you can find room in your budget.  It will be nicer for guests to go away at a time other than school holidays.  Just something for you to consider :)  CONGRATULATIONS and welcome to the forum.  A great website to be a part of!

Hi! And welcome!

As for the dates, I am a teacher, and so I would have a similar schedule to yours.

We have decided on July. Some people think we are nuts for going off season, but we have travelled off season before... it is a significant price drop than on season, and quieter, and I get built in time off... It was really a no brainer to us, even though others still are not so sure!

Anyway, research your location. Some places get quite hot in July, some are the rainy months... but we have always had good luck, and it is totally worth it in our world.

Just our perspective!

I finally got a quote from our travel agent! It looks good, but is only good until the end of this month (nice timing, right?) so we need to move now if we are going to go ahead with this booking. I think we are, if she answers our questions and everything!

I am so excited! Finally!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
