I just started the designing of the boarding pass invites and realized, I love doing them! I am having a ton of fun. What kind of card stock are you thinking for the invites? What about the holder to put them in?

Also, one issue that has me at a stand still is what to say on each one..any ideas??

Hey there! I can definitely relate… I too loved the boarding pass invites, but didnâ€t want to pay the premium for a professional custom design. While I was intrigued by the DIY idea, I tend to obsess over details and didnâ€t want my invites to look like an elementary school art project.  But after looking through dozens of successful projects on this site, I was finally encouraged. I admit, Iâ€m on my 4th boarding pass design, but this one is a definite winner (the first 3 design were subpar). Anyway, Iâ€m now 100% committed to this project and have started to purchase my supplies and I have oodles of samples on the way of pearlescent/metallic cardstock, satin ribbon and pearlescent and matte raffia ribbon etc. If you have the time, I would suggest dabbling around with design ideas and see what you think.  Good luck!

I ended up getting my save the dates from Vistaprint too. They turned out pretty nice and with all of the coupon codes I had, they were only $40.00 with envelopes, and retrun address stickers! I didn't want to spend a lot on STD's since these invites are going to take up time and money.

I went with postcard STD's from Vistaprint and I was really happy with them. I got a lot of compliments, and that made me feel good! You could order the envelopes to go with them, as well as return address labels to match too....so I think they turned out ok. I'll attach a pic of the front - on the back I paid the extra for colour printing and wrote some more details about our plans, put our wedding website address, etc.

I am going to do passport invites for sure, but only to people who are likely to be coming, and I'll send them out after most people have booked (about 4 months prior to the wedding).

I'm a 2013 bride as well! :) Happy to see that there are so many of us!

I'm planning on getting married in Punta Cana around Nov/Dec of 2013. I'm deciding between Dreams PB and Paradisus Palma Real for the venue... I'm leaning towards PPR. I'll be a happy camper with either one. ;)

Anyone know anything about Karina Jensen (photographer)? I absolutely ***** Nova..but she's a wee-bit out of my price range.

Happy Planning!

We are all set for May 3, 2013 at the Majestic Elegance.  Save the Dates have been delivered, photographer and officiant secured, and plans are well under way.  So if you all are early... you are not alone! :)  Feels so much better to be preparing early on rather than later!  Some resorts book up weddings fast, and the best vendors are sometimes booked over a year in advance in Punta Cana, so we'd rather be safe than sorry!

Congrats samfords!! How exciting. Isn't it great to get the major stuff out of the way? It's easy sailing from here on out. :)

Agreed! I'm an April 2013 bride and I had the hotel, judge, photographer booked almost two months ago :)

I feel so relieved to have those things out of the way, and feel like I can have fun with the rest of the process/planning over the next year!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
