Sky Lanterns!

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone! Seeing as I was the thread starter, I thought I would report back! We DID just use these at our wedding in Cabo on Wednesday. The lanterns are HUGE! My coordinator had two resort staff + herself unwrapping the lanterns on the beach to hand out to my 35 guests. They had 4 kerosene cans lit in the sand to light them fast and easily. I think almost all but maybe 1-2 went up in the air and they were AMAZING! My photographer took 100+ photos, but my wedding was just past Wednesday (I am still in Mexico!) so we won't see pics for a while. The next morning the whole buzz from the guests and the entire resort was over these lanterns!!! DO it!!!

So happy to hear these were everything you thought they would be! I can't wait to have these on our day! And good idea with the kerosene cans to help light them all faster! I will definately mention that to my WC. I am so excited for our pictures! :)

Did the majestic wedding coordinator confirm they were ok with using these?  I was told by a few other brides that the majestic wont let you use them but I am so in love with these!!!

We are actually having our ceremony and reception off of the resort. So hopefully the restaurant will allow us to light them off! I need to check with them, thanks for reminding me! :)

I am also in love with these! I sure hope they have no problem with them! They would make for amazing pictures!

Thanks for sharing that eBay seller's name! I did some more research on it, and having wire-free ones might make the resort more likely to let us have them. Still need to check to be sure (fingers crossed!)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
