Hi there!  Unfortunately I have no advice for you as I just started the planning process myself, however, I DID want to congratulate you on your engagement.  This site appears to have a lot of reviews peppered among regular threads so I might try a search of those hotels in forums as a start.  Also, check out the resort reviews page.  There may be some good insight there on the 3 properties.

Congratulations Krysta!

If you have never been to Jamaica, it is amazingly beautiful!

I have a few things you may want to consider:

I have been to the Palladium, it is beautiful, well kept and very high class. If you are looking for a quite relaxing and intimate wedding week, this is the place for you. We saw wedings at the Spa (Elegant) and Beach (Fun). The two receptions were very different, and I'm not sure of the costs. One was on the volley ball sand, they set up seet walls with lights on them to make it more private, and the other was on the beach with a band and a bon fire.

We were considering this resort, but we wanted as many of friends and family to come at the price is a little higher than the other options. I may be kicking myself for this decision in January, 86 ppl coming....so far!

Our travel agent advised against the RUI because of unsatisfied customers, and one of the major tour providers in Canada recently dumped them from their roster for this reason. I have never stayed at any RUIs, and a friend liked the one in Ocho Rios when she went there in 2009.

Hope that helps a little.

Good luck!

Jamie

We chose the Sunset Jamaica Grande in Ocho Rios, It's more of a party resort, or so my Travel Agent tells us. Hopefully it all works out. I haven't had much luck with the Wedding Coordinator down there.

As for my Profile pic, It took me a while, there are lots of threads about how to create your own logo using PPT, Word, Etc. They should be under the DIY section.

Well, my travel agent is dealing w the hotel and airfare. Im brining a photographer with me, it was a way better deal to have her w us for 3 days than to hire someone down there. The hotels seem to he slow to respond, but i reserved my date, and im doing a ceremony on the beach with a cocktail reception after w a steel drum band. Im looking into off site dinner receptions. I havent figured out welcome bags or a dress yet. When are you getting married?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
