Hair & Make-Up Recommendations

Recommended Posts

I have contacted all of them including Doranna and I'm waiting to compare prices.  I am just looking for hair which I hope will save me money.  One of my bridesmaids is a pro makeup artist (so lucky).

I'm sure they're both great and talented so it's very difficult to pick just one. Hmmm maybe browse through photos and see which ones have done similar hair styles to what you envision?

I had a really tough time deciding too - they ALL seem great! Ultimately I went with Fernando bc I'm getting hair & makeup & I loved his work. I'm sure you'll love either one - just bring pic(s) of what you want and maybe schedule a trial if it would ease your mind (plus then your hair would be done for welcome cocktail or another pre-wedding event)! Good luck!

Thanks ladies!!

I think I am going to go with Adrian and do a trial either for my bachelorette or my welcome dinner party.  I have lots of pictures to bring with me as examples so it should be fine.

A big concern I do have is I want my hair half up/half down with loose wavy curls.  I know most brides in Mexico prefer their hair up because of heat, humidity and wind but I know I want long loose curls so I'm hoping it works out.  I know by the end of the ceremony and pictures the hair will be up and ready to party LOL.

That's great you're booked!  I'm hoping for the same kind of style you're talking about....half up with long lose curls.  We're doing our pictures prior to the ceremony so for the reception I'd like my hair to be up.  Will you have Adrian stay and put your hair up?  Or are you doing it yourself?

I think I will just ask for some tips on how to put it up and have my bridesmaids listen and ask them to do it after the pictures.

  • 1 month later...

I JUST worked with Fernando Fuentes from The Makeup Pros.  They were AMAZING!  Very elegant.  Very quiet (except when they chimed in and laughed during the morning's conversation).

I've worked with A TON of make-up artists and hair stylists...but these guys are definitely at the top of my faves list.  I just wish I could work with them on more weddings!!!

I've attached a few of the images from the morning.  Becky's hair was VERY elegant and her make-up was incredibly natural.  I've photographed her a ton over the past year and a half, and she looked very natural and herself on her wedding day.  :D

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
