Hair & Make-Up Recommendations

Hello! I'm new to posting, but have been lurking for a while now. 

 

I am trying to find on-site hair/make-up professionals in Riviera Maya - Mayakoba area.  For make-up, I prefer air brushing, but am open to traditional make-up so long as the artist is amazing.

 

I think photography is utmost important followed by hair/make-up -- because looking good in photos is a must!

 

Any help would be appreciated!  Thanks!

Hello sweet!

 

I had my wedding hair and make up with Nora Zurama from MAC and she came with a excellnt hairstylist in November. I loved both of them. They do great work. I paid $ 600 dollars for them to come to my hotel and that included them coming the next day for my after shoot too. I would highly recommend using them. They were very professional. Arrived 30 minutes early each day. And even though it was way too expensive, at the end of the day it was worth it. My hair looked awesome and my makeup stayed all night and was the look i wanted. Good luck!!

Those are beautiful pics - Adrian & his team did a great job! I'm actually trying to decide on hair/makeup artist too...between the Styling Trio, Fernando of the Makeup Pros, and Melissa of MVP. I'd love to hear other brides' thoughts and see more pics

I have seen the work of many of these and look to be very talented, but the prices are quite expensive for some, especially if I'm getting my bridesmaids done, too. Does anyone have any recommendations for less expensive hair and/or makeup artists?

Hmmm I can't really help you on that one, but if you find out let me know   I guess brides are willing to pay a higher amount for their wedding day...it's almost like you're guaranteed to look beautiful.  Are you lucky enough to have a make-up artist in the family?  Maybe they can help out?  Also are you paying for your bridesmaids make-up too?

I planned to pay for the girls, too, as a kind gesture. But at these prices - I'm not sure!! I'm actually good at doing makeup but don't want to on the big day and definitely not for all of us

Not sure if you booked or not for your artist! there seems to be so much confusion and different opinions flying around on this site with regards to makeup and hair stylists! lol

 

I was looking into Fernando, he is great, however I ended up booking with Krystie Ann. She is an award wining artist, and has been in the business for a while. She seems to be very popular in the wedding industry and fashion industry as well. Her work was very impressive.

 

What my girl friend did and what I will be doing is grouping up with other brides I have found online and through my travel agent and we split on her travel costs to come out to our location for the week and does 2 or 3 weddings in the week while she is there.
