Kukua Beach Club-Punta Cana?

Recommended Posts

Has anyone been to or heard of the Kukua Beach Club in Punta Cana? We are having our wedding there in January 2012, but I have not heard of many other brides having weddings there. I think it is a fairly new place, so that would explain it. Any other past or present Kukua brides out there?

Hello! Have you heard from anyone else doing a wedding here? The Jellyfish told me Feb 3 was open so I responded that I wanted to take that date (in an email); I have called several times and emailed and no response....I am starting to think I should follow your lead with Kukua. I will patiently wait.  How has your communication been with Kukua?

What happened at theJellyfish? I confirmed with Mayte this past week but I am nervous as she didn't request a deposit or anything so I just hope she put me on the calendar!

I have only talked to one other bride who has had her wedding here. She had nothing but great things to say about the owner and her wedding day. She totally made me feel 100x better about having my wedding here!  I even got to see her wedding pictures and they were gorgeous! The communication with the restaurant has been amazing! She usually responds within 1 day of my emails!

Did Mayte email you with a confirmation? You are lucky to have got through to them! I wish I could have done it there, but they simply would not respond to my emails or phone calls. But I think it could have been a blessing, because so far my experience with Kukua has been great!

Hi vav11238! Yes, all the information I have is from their website that MNtoMX posted. I have been in contact with the restaurant for awhile now, so if you have any questions let me know as I could probably answer them! So far they have been wonderful to work with! Where are you staying in Punta Cana? We are staying at the Majestic Elegance and the restaurant is about a 3-5 minute drive from there, so not sure how close it is to where you are staying, but that is definately pretty convienent for us! Let me know if you have any questions! Good luck and happy planning!

I was on the waiting list for Jellyfish and just found out today that the person ahead of me finally called and confirmed her date. (I am a little miffed because my fiance and I were prepared to pay immediately and we had to wait around for them to track down this other bride to find out if she still wanted the date, but I digress, lol) Anyway, so now we are looking at the Kukua Beach Club. We're still having our ceremony at the resort because we like the location, but at the last minute my fiance decided that he liked the idea of having the reception off property. So I'm waiting to hear from Kukua if our date is available and if it is, then I think we're going to go with them.  I'm glad to hear that you ladies have had positive experiences so far with them. Does anyone know if they can do a set up similiar to Jellyfish for the cocktail hour?

I had sent a request for the date I wanted and Mayte sent me information on the property but NOT a hold on the date. It took three more emails and when I finally called and got through my date had been secured THE DAY BEFORE! I had realized on the Jellyfish thread that there was another bride looking to have her event there the same day and she beat me to the punch.

In the end, I really wanted dinner to be by a pool and if I can get that here, then it was meant to be.

Would it be possible to share those pictures. I'd love to see what her wedding looked like - 20feb2012@gmail.com.

I am not sure what setup at the Jellyfish is for cocktail hour, but Begona (owner of the restaurant) has been more then accomodating for all of my requests. She can pretty much do anything you want. We are having our cocktail hour outside of the restaurant by the pool.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
