Kukua Beach Club-Punta Cana?

Recommended Posts

She actually added me to facebook so I was able to look at her pictures on there. I can email you her info and I am sure she wouldn't mind sharing her pictures with you as well! She was super helpful with answering all my questions I had about this place!

I got great news today! My date is available so I'll be having my reception at Kukua! I'm really excited because I think that it will be a much nicer experience than having both ceremony and reception at the resort.  Bego responds so quickly to inquiries. I'm really impressed so far.  I read on tripadvisor that their paella is the signature dish so I want to make that an option for my menu. Are you guys renting out the entire space or just doing a partial rental?

Thats great news! Congrats!! Bego is truly amazing to work with! After working with so many places down there that did not respond quickly, you totally appreciate her quick response! I have loved working with her so far! and she is so accomodating to anything you want! We have rented out the entire restaurant. What is your date? And what resort are you guys staying at?

Thanks Danz. We are staying at Zoetry Agua. They have a lovely stone gazebo that doesn't look like the typical wedding gazebos that Im absolutely in love with so we are having our ceremony there. As part of our package, we get a wedding cake and a champagne afterwards. So... since I'm from the South, we're going to call it the Groom's Cake and let the guests eat cake and drink champagne while we take a few pictures. Then, we are going to Kukua for the cocktail hour, reception and then we'll serve another cake. So I hope my guests are in the mood for lots of cake that day.

So we did get a confirmation email from Bego but she did not tell us what the deposit would be or how to pay it. Does anyone know if it's a set fee or if it's a percentage of your estimated costs?  Also, does Kukua take credit cards or paypal?

She or he (I'm not sure) sent me back info for my date and asked for a $500 deposit to secure the date.  I want to check with my hotel NOW Larimar to see if they work with them and what to do about transportation. When I was looking at the Jellyfish, I had figured it was in walking distance for the young and would book a van for some of the older people and small children but looking at this map

it seems way too far to ask people to walk back. I know my friends would be good sports about it but heading back on the sand around midnight..just not too sure.

Winnie - I plan on doing the same thing as you. Get hitched on the beach at NOW and see if I can parlay the free meal for 25 into apps before the ceremony and use the cake as a grooms cake too.

I pretty much harassed Mayte until I received a response J …emails, facebook, phone calls...she did contact me last week, said her husband was in an accident, totaled their car but he is ok. Our first few dates were not available at the Jellyfish but because we have not booked our resort yet, we were somewhat flexible. Our date is now February 3, 2012 and we will do everything at the Jellyfish (although, we might do pictures at the resort before because the Jellyfish seems to have more seaweed/seagrass than the resort would).

Sounds like Kukua is great to work with! That really helps minimize the stress level!  I am going to try not to do too much until Novemberish--- it might get cray around the holidays and that will increase my stress! I noticed the DR has several holidays in January so I hope that does not impact any planning or organization!

Vav, it seems that this will be a perfect place for you with the pool!! After we made the decision to go outside of the resort, we could not have been happier!  It is nice to give our guests the opportunity to get a different experience than just the resort.

She usually responds within 1 day of my emails!

Did Mayte email you with a confirmation? You are lucky to have got through to them! I wish I could have done it there, but they simply would not respond to my emails or phone calls. But I think it could have been a blessing, because so far my experience with Kukua has been great!

I recall a posting in the Now Larimar that when someone asked about the Jellfish Restaurant, Now Larimar referred the person to Kukua so maybe they will be able to work something out with transportation??

Yes they do, we plan on using their transportation too, even though our resort is super close to the restaurant. Kukua is between Bahia Principe and RIU Resorts in Map 3 I believe.

I believe she told me it would be a percentage of my invoice. Since I have not chosen our menu yet, we have not put a deposit down either. Every time I ask her if I can send the deposit she said it is fine if we wait until I chose the menu so she can write up a pre-invoice. So it is weird that vav had to pay $500 down to reserve? It must vary depending on the date or something? Maybe if she has others that want that date too, I am not sure. But I wouldnt worry if she hasnt asked you for a deposit because I have been working with her since June and I haven't put one down yet either. And not sure on credit cards or paypal. I am assuming once we get down there they will accept credit cards (not positive tough) but for the deposit I think you have to transfer to her bank account, because she mentioned when we were ready to send a deposit she would send the wire transfer information.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
