Thanks!!  All that lace for 1500?! It simply amazes me how affordable Pronovias dress are...  I love lace and agree with you if it were in a church... It does look gorgeous on you even though it's not your dress ;) Online, there is a piece of material that snaps into the back of the dress to give the appearance of a long train.  It attaches at the top of the bodice in the back and I won't be using it.  The train on it is actually decent, a bit more than a puddle train, I may even be shortening it because I'm not a fan of how chiffon bustles.

I really want to go try this on (but I already bought my dress... hee ; )

here's a pic of the pronovias gown I tried on and would have purchased if we were doing a formal church ceremony. it was also in the pronovias line called la sposa denia - it's the one pictured in the Martha Stewart Wedding magazines and is absolutely beautiful in person. it was one of those where there were 10 things going on in the room and when I came out and the consultant fluffed the dress, everything stopped. and all that lace for around $1,500 - LOVE pronovias. : )

I budgeted about $1000-$1500 for my dress. I tried on about 10 dresses, but I didn't look at the prices since the consultant only pulled dresses that were in my budget. I tried on some Maggies, Pronovias, Alfred Angelos, and Venus. I didn't want price to influence my decision so I just chose based on which one felt like the "one". In the end, I ended up choosing the dress which was the LEAST expensive of all the ones I tried on. Go figure! It had the lightest fabric and felt the most beachy. I'm sure the fabric and simple nature of the dress contributed to the final cost. It was $650.

Here it is. The dress I tried on didn;t have the massive flower on the side. Once mine comes in, I will decide if I will keep it or remove it. Right now, I'm leaning towards removing it!

Gorgeous dress & what a deal - $650!!!

It's hard to really see the flower but in person you may love it. Nice thing is you can always remove it too!

  • 2 weeks later...

I'm like a lot of brides on this thread who wanted to keep her budget as low as possible.  I love ALL dresses, so keeping costs down for the wedding dress allowed me to keep buying beautiful casual dresses (and shoes, and bags!) after the big day, haha.  I'm also glad I went with a fancier style even though I thought I'd be in a simple, flowy dress on the beach, but we all seem to change our minds once our turn comes cheesy.gif

I haven't posted my dress in classifieds yet, but am planning on selling for $350 + shipping for those other brides on this thread looking for inexpensive dresses for the big day or TTD session.  There are a bunch of pics in my siggy, just PM me if you're interested.  I'm about a size 4, 33-27-35, but it's strapless sweetheart neckline so it fits a lot of body types.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
