My budget was $2000-$3000 but I honestly would have paid whatever. I really had no idea, I was actually surprised how much cheaper the dresses were then I thought. My dress came to a little under $1000 with taxes & fees. The ones off the rack & clearance were even cheaper! I saw a few that were around $300!!

When do you think you will start looking? Have anything in mind?

I have a small waist with large hips, so im thinking a fit and flare would be my best option.  I guess I watch, "say yes to the dress" too often cause my jaw DROPS when I hear they spend 3-6k on a dreess.

where did you find your dress??? I went into Davids Bridal and did NOT like it at all! So I vowed I wouldnt set foot in that place again! LOL!

Im just hoping that when I settle on a dress I wont see another one and be out xxxx amount of money and buy a new one.  How do you get over questioning the dress you picked when there are so many to choose from?

I totally agree! I have the same reaction to "say yes to the dress" and I felt bad asking my parents to pay so much for my dress. I ordered mine from a local bridal shop that had really competitive pricing and specials. For example, the month I bought my dress I also go to pick the veil I wanted for free (this was awesome because I wanted a $350 dream veil!!).

I haven't gotten my dress yet and I know it will have to be altered because I have a smaller waist and a larger chest but before alterations mine was $1300 (remember free veil!!) I wouldn't have wanted to spend more than $1000 but I ended up falling in love with a lace gown.

I had a similar experience with David's Bridal and vowed never to return!

LOL! I dont know how most brides can even stomach going into there!

Okay, so gown and free veil $1300, did you get all the accesories with it? Like the bra, the poofy skirt that goes underneath it, and or that thing that wraps aroudn your waist???

Just trying to figure out what final costs.  I know mine will need to be altered as Im on a 5LB weight loss per month mission! eclipsee_gold_cup.gif

I had a budget of $1000 dollars when I started dress shopping.  I had never been dress shopping before so I had no clue how much dresses would cost.  There is only two local bridal stores where I live, and the next closest one is about 2-3 hours away so I wanted to try to get it locally to make things easier.  That being said, the first store I went to, all of their dresses were at least $1500 and all the way up to $10 000 (they carried Pronovias, Monique Lhuiller, ect).  I thought If I found the dream dress I would probably go over my budget, but I just didn't find any dresses I loved there.  I went to the other local store after that.  They had much cheaper dresses but were just as good of quality (They carried brands like Alfred Angelo, Jacqueline, Allure ect.)  My dress ended up being just under $1000 dollars with everything included.

That was the total with just the veil and the dress, it is a fitted trumpet style so it doesn't need anything to go underneath and I plan on getting the shaper somewhere else anyway so I wasn't worried.

Well, I started with an initial budget of $1,000.  I just ordered my dress today and its a little over $700 (and a bridesmaid gifted a veil to me).  So I've been presently surprised at my coming under budget. cheesy.gif I tried David's Bridal but really didn't see much I liked, I actually ended going with a knock off dress with various upgrades!

Okay my budget is $4840 since I knew the dress that I researched cost this.  If I didn't fall in love with it, when I went to try it on then everything else would have to way under this price.  Well I fell in love with the dress.  Even though I tried on others that looked great....this dress I had said yes to over and over and over again.  So on the 30th I will officially say yes (down payment), meet the designer (Lazaro) at the trunk show  where I will get 15% off, He (Lazaro)  will also sketch me in my dress and sign it.  However; I'm going to try to get some more $$ off of the dress.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
