I booked with Misha Earle for my March 2012 wedding. Can't speak for my pictures yet but she's been amazing to work with by email and very responsive.

She has amazing pictures on her website :)

Without letting the entire cat out of the bag... Lets just say I low-balled her BIG TIME! and she met me in the middle which is probably one of the lowest rates she has taken if not the lowest.  I also paid for her to saty overnight at the resort so that i could get my TTD the next morning.  My suggestion is to NEGOTIATE.  I got the same package and treatment of other brides so it can be done....

i know alot of people are using very high end photogs like marcia, saab, etc....and i too wanted to go that route..but with all of the other wedding expenses i'm incurring at iberostar, i just couldn't stomach shelling out over $1k for a photographer.  luckily, i found a very cost efficient, young, new photographer whose pictures are really nice and his rates are outrageously reasonable.

now, i suspect i'll need to give him some direction but other Jamaica brides that i spoke to on FB said the experience with him was great.  his name is roan robinson and his info is noted below.  look him up on FB and he'll be more than happy to provide additional information..just let him know Ms. Davis recommended him to you...  cheesy.gif

good luck and happy planning!!

My wedding is in 3 weeks at RIU Ocho Rios.  Because most photographers charge you by the hour and don't really know too much about your personality.  Our photographer knows us because he did our engagement pics.  We opted to pay for his accommodation in exchange for unlimited pictures the whole weekend :) so we paid almost $1000 for a photographer for the weekend.  he got a free trip w/ exposure and because he is a guest I DO NOT have to pay the vendor fee.  Just a thought.

Good Luck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
