That's Awesome you sent in your form....it gets so exciting!!   :-)))

I'd love to hear other comments on Preferred Club but here are my comments from my experience:

1)  It was nice to have WiFi in my room so I could use my laptop at any time.  You do not have the Wifi access in the other rooms at all....if you want to use internet you have to pay for it and use the computer room located next to the lobby.

2)  With the Preferred you get to reserve the bali beds at the main pool.  This worked out great because we reserved one almost everyday and we had a place to lay all day for me and some of my guests.  A waiter kept the drinks coming all day.  You are also able to reserve lounge chairs on the beach which is nice so you know you have a great spot.

3)  The balconies had awesome views and a big jacuzzi... :-)

4)  One of the restaurants serves breakfast exclusively for Preferred Club...you can eat breakfast on a deck next to the ocean...very pretty!

5)  The room itself is gorgeous with an upgraded bathroom.  All of the other rooms are great too, but the Preferred one is nicer.

6)  We went in the Preferred lounge a few times and grabbed a snack and a drink, it was nice but i'd rather be out by the pool bar or the beach bar.  : ) ....I was able to use the printer in there though to print my boarding pass the day before we left so that was helpful.

I never even really went to the adults preferred pool because I was always doing something else or hanging out with my guests....none of my guests got Preferred so me and my husband were the only ones.  I bet if more of my guests got Preferred then we would hung out at the adults pool more.

The resort does not serve Captain Morgan at all....I know this because that is our favorite drink as well and we asked for it on day one.....they do however have an alternative to Captain which is called Flor de Cana.  It is excellent...we liked it so much we actually bought a bottle.  :-)

The chair sashes are not included in any of the wedding packages...you can either purchase them per chair or bring them yourself.

Taking a trip down there would be awesome!!  I hope you can do that!!   :-)   You are going to Love it there.

Happy Planning!!!!!!!!

A lot of our guests drink Captain do we have to get perferred club because of this. Also are chair sahes included with ungraded packages. Thank you in advance. Hopefully might take a trip down there when FI isn't in the fields.

I liked having preferred, but it is definitely not necessary. Although things were slightly different for us as we have a two year old, and he kind of cramped our style sometimes, haha.

But here are my comments:

1 - I also liked having wifi in the room. But we spent time on our balcony each day while our son napped, so it was a nice bonus to use that time to check emails, etc

2 - Because we spent so much time on our balcony, it was REALLY nice to have a nice big balcony looking over the beach and ocean. At least it still felt like we were on vacation and we could enjoy the breeze, sounds of the ocean, music from the pool.

3 - We reserved chairs on the beach every day. We didn't use them all the time, but it was nice to know they were there. Especially as sometimes we couldn't use them until the afternoon, and by then all chairs at the pool and beach are taken.

4 - We actually only had the preferred breakfast twice because we forgot about it until the end of our trip, but it was nice having breakfast out on the deck.

5 - The day after the wedding, family had our son, so we went to the preferred pool to "hide" for a bit, and spend time alone without running into him. The pool is smaller, but nice and quiet, and we enjoyed it.

Hope that helps!

Thanks Amy and Joda. This really helps. I don't think we are going with perferred. If we get upgraded that is ok but I don't think we really need it. The wifi would be nice. If that captain look alike is in with the reg drinks we will be fine. The only other one we would have to worry about is Beam. I just want to have a good time. Hopefully we can get away for a mini vaca without the kids before the wedding.

I had Divine and the white fabric I had came with my package....not sure if you could see it well with my photos. I am not sure if it comes with all of the packages.  The white covered chairs came with it too.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
