Has anyone thought of doing the lasso ceremony as part of their wedding? We are thinking of incorperating it into the ceremony and wondered how much they charged for the flower lasso.

@@niknic456 Hello! quick question: did you have any problem getting your stuff thru customs in Mexico?

I did have issues with mailing my boxes and clearing customs because I was not aware that seashells are considered animals and need special agricultural clearance, but Juan Carlos called customs and worked everything out for me. I would recommend shipping 2 months in advance or trying to take as much as possible on the airplane with you, clearing customs that way is much easier.

For those that hired an outside DJ, did you have to pay to use a power generator?  The following is in the contract for one of the DJ's we are talking to and I am not sure what it means:  (I hope I can assume that we will not need a generator and that there will be a power supply for the DJ to use on the Tequila Terrace???)  Anyone have any experience with this??

We do not take an electric generator for the reception, in case you need one the price is $800 US per event.

You will not need a generator. The Tequila Terrace has everything your DJ will need. I had a super duper sound system with lights, fog, etc...and it was fine.

1 more question for now...

Has anyone had their cocktail hour in the same location as their reception?  Curious if this is a problem for the resort to get everything set up.

I had my ceremony, cocktail hour, and dinner on the Tequila Terrace and it all worked out fine....don't worry it will all be setup prior to guest arrival and the only thing they move are chairs and you will not be aware that they are moving the chairs because you will be off taking pictures. They will take care of it! :)

Hi Ladies

I leave in a little over a week for NOW Sapphire!! I can't believe it's really happening! I feel like I"ve been planning for months. If anyone has any questions or things they want to know about the resort, etc. I can find out and let you know when I return from my honeymoon. Also - once I'm settled back into to married life I can have a quick conference call for anyone who wants to ask specific questions about the resort, etc.

I literally would have LOST my mind without this website and all the help of the brides on here because in the beginning NOONE was responding to me from the resort and I was trying to plan so much without knowing anything SO I want to make sure I pay it forward for all the ladies who kept me sane during the planning process.

Send me some questions you want answered or if you want to see pictures of certain things/locations and then when I get back from honeymoon in early july we can chat via phone and I can answer anything you want me to!

Are you using their sound system for your reception? If so, let me know if it is compatable with an I-phone 4 or 5 or an I-pad. Thanks!

Hello! I am just joining the site. Everyones comments on this thread are so helpful!! I am 99% sure I am going to book my wedding at NOW Sapphire for April 19th. It seems really popular so only Sundays were left in April.

I am just curious what people have done after their wedding ended. I am planning reception until 10-10:30ish but know my guests will want to keep partying. I was thinking about going to the night club after but am concerned it might be closed and/or empty on a Sunday night :( Can anyone tell me what they have done after their reception ended?

I'm having mine on April 18th! We are most likely extending ours an hour to last till 11:30 and then heading to the club at the hotel. Not sure what its like on sunday but I would imagine people would be there any night of the week since they will be on vacation. I know we will probably be there for round two if the night before doesn't hurt us too bad :)

    • I have stayed at Dreams La Romana and Dreams Dominicus.  The two resorts are very different in style and decor. A few comparison points are below and fact sheets are attached for both.   Both resorts are approx 45 minutes from Punta Cana airport, close proximity to Saona Island, Catalina Island and Altos de Chavon. Top championship golf courses in the Caribbean are just minutes away including Teeth of the Dog, Dye Fore, The Links and La Estancia – all designed by world-famous Pete Dye. Restaurants are similar at both resorts.  Both offer the Explorers Club for Kids.  Dreams Dominicus  Brand new resort and in 2016 488 rooms (however additional construction was underway) More contemporary style & decor Good beach area Rooms were very nice Preferred Club located in main lobby and adjacent to main pool & beach front Food was good Center plaza area with nighttime entertainment Main lobby is small, but outdoor bar off lobby is nice Dreams La Romana Originally built in 2003 & opened as Dreams La Romana in 2008 756 rooms Recently renovated and new preferred club adults only lounge & pool added  Rooms are more traditional Caribbean decor Grounds are very lush and tropical Good beach area food was good    Dreams Dominicus fact sheet.pdf Dreams La Romana fact sheet.pdf
    • My sister has done it but with the destination wedding, only super close family members and friends came since it was expensive and farther. It was great though.
