Hi Ladies

My wedding is 6 weeks away and I'm getting so excited. I completed my pre-travel mailer this weekend and am getting ready to send out this week!

The content of the pre-travel mailer are as follows:

1. Letter from myself and my fiancé getting everyone excited for the trip2

2. 1 luggage tag per person for their luggage

3. 1 CD with Beachy/Vacation songs to get everyone pumped for the trip

4. 1 brochure made on vista print with information about traveling, dress code, resort information, etc.

Lastly we made the packets that we are going to include in the OOT bags which include:

- Tylenol

- Pepto Bismo

- Shout Wipes

- Emergen-C

- Colgate wisp mini toothbrush

-8 pack of bandaids

- Tums

If you would like further details on any of the photos, contents please let me know!

Vanessa,

How very exciting you are so close. Do you think you could maybe email or PM your brochure to me? I don't have the 150 posts yet.

Also as for the luggage tags, do we need to give our guest those or did you just do it for fun.

Hey ladies,

We are doing a fan program for the ceremony. Does anyone have a write up of what to include? We are doing a sand ceremony but don't really know the order of things.

Lastly anyone that is using Anel and Jacob from Amorcitophotography do you feel like the 6 hours was enough? They want to come at 3pm and take the getting ready photos, 4pm do the reveal and the ceremony starts at 5? I want to make sure we get enough time for wedding party and family photos after ceremony and before cocktail hour. Ugh these details are killing me, the only thing that is which is good I guess.

Thanks Ladies!

@meganwitt-

I"ll PM you the brochures. Not a problem.

I just sent the luggage tags for fun. Just to get the guests excited and in the mood for traveling to Mexico!

I am also using anel and Jacob from amorcito photography. We booked them for 6 hours as well. My ceremony starts at 4 ( I'm assuming they will arrive 3pm and stay until 9pm. Our reception ends at 10:30 so we will have been dancing, etc. for awhile once they leave at 9pm. I figure there are only so many pictures they can take of our guest drunk on the dance floor! HA

We are leaving an hour in between the ceremony and cocktail hour to account for taking pictures, etc.

I think that will be perfect that way we don't miss our entire cocktail hour.

It did take about 2 hours but that was more getting the content/formatting right. It wasn't hard just tedious but my FI and I had fun doing it.

I attached pics of our brochure so if you want to zoom in and print out you can use the verbiage/layout if you like it!

@@zeman321 If you need me to take a close up picture of the brochure I can. Just PM me.

Thanks so much, this will help a lot!

Past and future brides!!

So my new thing is how am I going to get this beautiful dress of mine down to Mexico!!! What are people doing or did in the past?

I've heard of the wallybag, packing it from my tailor, or just bringing it on the plane and hoping you have a good flight attendant.

I'm only 5'2 and my dress isn't very big, but I don't know if I want to hold onto it the whole time or waste a whole carry on with just my dress.... hmmm

Any ideas??

What airline are you flying?  Definitely carry your dress on the plane.  Don't put it in your luggage.

I purchased a garment bag when I bought my dress.  I carried it on the plane.  The airline that I flew did not have a closet.  When priority boarding was called we went up to the gate and boarded before everyone else.  As soon as the attendant saw my dress (it will be obvious it's a wedding dress), she put it in an overhead bin and closed the doors.  She made sure no one else put anything on top of it.  She was super sweet, and I was so grateful!  Most people were super happy and congratulatory for us.  We kind of felt like VIPs!

I also put my husbands suit in the garment bag with the dress, so it didn't feel like I was "wasting" a carry on.  We had everything we needed to get married in our carry-on bags - attire, shoes, rings, portable speakers.  We each had one carry on and then the dress - it worked out perfectly for us.

@meganwitt- I just bought the Wally bag. My fiancé tested it as a carry on during a recent business trip and it was totally fine. Fit in the overhead perfectly. I am flying jetblue and they don't have any closets so I upgraded us to priority boarding so we can get on the plane first and put the dress in an overhead. I would DEF carry your dress on. That thing is not leaving my side. We are also going to put my fiancés suit in there.

Hi brides of Now Sapphire! I was wondering what others are doing or have done for a welcome party for their guests? I emailed Juan and of course we recommended doing the 2 hour dinner for $28 per guests. That's a lil high for our budget. Did anyone do anything creative or have any ideas that might be a lil more budget friendly?

Thanks,

Kristen.

Ladies need your advice. My mom and I keep arguing over the "shoe option" for the ceremony. Our ceremony will be on the beach. My first fitting for my dress is April 25th so I have to bring the shoe I'm going to wear. Right now I have two pairs. A flat sandal and my mom bought me a high wedge shoe ( which is adorable but uncomfortable bc I usually wear flats)

I keep telling her that walking on the sand with a shoe with any type of heel and then standing there for 20 mins with them on will be uncomfortable.

Any feedback from past brides on this?

Hi,

Just wondering if you figured out your shoe option?  I ordered barefoot sandals on Etsy and they come very quickly if you decided to go that route for the ceremony.

I can;t believe our wedding s are almost here.

Hi Kristen,

I am doing a beach BBQ and paying $35 pp.  If you don't want to spend the extra money (everything add's up soooooo quickly) then just pick a meeting spot in one of the resort bars and you and your guests can party there.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
