@@zeman321 I can't answer many of the questions you above but here is a few things i found out when talking to Anel about my wedding. They can transfer the chairs from the ceremony to the reception. It says they will charge $2/chair to move but if you read through some other posts on this forum a few brides said they never got charged for it. Same thing the sashes. They will charge you to put on the initial sashes( for any over the 25 that are included in the package) and then again to change to a diff color. One thing brides did was had some friends/family do the sashes to save some $$. That's probbly the only downfall about these resorts is they charge you for EVERYTHING. You can basically do anything you want but you will have to most likely pay a small fee for just about everything.

@@vanessav53 I think we are going to have someone playing the steel drum for our welcome dinner.  I was thinking about having it for cocktail hour but I want to be able to enjoy it too.

I am renting as much as I possibly come from the hotel.  I will get even more stressed out than I need to be if I have to bring decor with me.

@@GingerJ228 we are having the steel drum band trio at welcome reception also! I'm so excited about it. I think we are goign to start cocktail hour an hour after ceremony ends so we and the pople that will be in the photos don't miss 1/2 or the whole cocktail hour. My FI is one of 8 siblings so his whole family is 35 of the 80 guests we are having. Since they will be in some of the group photos we wanted to psuh back start so will most likely have ceremony 4-4:30 cocktail hour 5:30-6:30 and reception 6:30-10:30 We are using the guitar from the divine pkg at cocktail hour instead of at the ceremony!

did you hear back about the johnny walker blue or cigar roller yet? I have to make sure we ask for premium liquor to be served at all of our events ( grey goose, etc.) they should ha veon resort but people said you have to ask NUMEROUS times until they actually serve it :)

Looking for answers around the ceremony:

1. Is anyone using a friend or family member as the officiant for their symbolic ceremony?

2. Does this need to be approved by the resort or does the friend/family  member have to get their certificate online to officiate even if it's just symbolic. I've read that some resorts require that even though it's really not neccessary if it's not a legal ceremony?

Thanks

I know a bride at the Now Jade had her brother perform their symbolic ceremony so I am sure it would be the same at the Now Sapphire.  We had a symbolic ceremony and the resort brought in a minister for the wedding.

20 days until I leave!!!!! 22 days until I say I DO!

I just cant believe how fast it came!! I just sent my completed planning forms in a few days ago and am just waiting for conformation from Anel..

I do have a few questions for you ladies as I am trying to tie together last little details..

1) What time does the disco/night club open at the Now Sapphire?

2) Will the front desk provide you with all your guests room numbers upon rrequest? I have some welcome/info cards I would like to distribute the next morning after we arrive.

3) When Is your meeting with the planner arranged? Before or after arrival?

4) Has any past brides taken the private with the private shuttle to the resort? Was it lined up and waiting for you at the airport? I am flying with my majority of my guests but would like to arrive at the resort before the group preferably.

5) Does any one know what time the main pool closes at? My cocktail hour is at 4:30 on the beach terrace and I have a portable bluetooth speaker to use for back ground music more less. I know the pool will still be open at 430 and am wondering if my music will just be drowned out by the pool music?

If anyone could help me out with these that would be great! Thank you and happy planning!!!

One more!! Can any past brides give a review on the resorts makeup artists. I am not to concerned about the hair as its going to be done pretty simple.

How about using false lashes?? I am bringing a pair with me but want to make sure they are experianced using them as I have had make up jobs ruined by falsies not being put on properly..

The nightclub "starts" at 10pm I believe.  They are open before that, but as a sports bar, typically with a game on the TV's.  At 10 they start playing the dance club music.

Our meeting was arranged with the planner after arrival.  We had 5 days from arrival until the wedding.  The meeting was scheduled 2 days prior.

We took the shuttle to the resort.  You need to confirm your shuttle with the WC's before leaving.  They will give you the name of the shuttle operator.  I believe it was AMSTAR transfers.  You need to find the AMSTAR representative and then they will call the van for you.  It took probably about 20 minutes from the time we found the rep until the van came, and then a 20 minute drive to the resort! (longer if the road still is not fixed :S)  We checked in really quickly through the Preferred section, it was awesome!

Can you put on your own false lashes?  I personally did not use false ones, so I am not sure with the spa staff's familiarity with them, but if you could put them on yourself after, I think that would be safest!

Thank you very much DinaQtobe :)

I have one more that maybe you or another past bride can awnser.

During your meeting with Anel, does she arrange a quick rehersal for the ceremony with your bridal party at the ceremony location or does she just give everyone a quick run down before the ceremony begins on where to walk and stand?

Thanks!! :)

18 days till departure!!!

So exciting that you have such few days left!

We didn't ask about a rehearsal, but I am sure we could have done one if necessary.  Ramon went over what the bridal party should do with them right before.  He also helped us in cutting our cake as we had NO idea what we were doing at the time.  He checked in on us a few times during the reception too, making sure we were happy and that things were going smoothly.  It was the most wonderful day, you are in good hands!

Enjoy every minute of it, as it really does go by very quickly!

I have the Divine package and was hoping to use the soloist during our cocktail hour (I see some people have done that.) But Anel told me I have to use it during the ceremony. Anyone know why she would be saying this? What sort of soloist did you have and what kind of music did they play for the ceremony? Or cocktail hour?  Thanks!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
