Now Sapphire Weddings Formerly Paradisus Riviera

Recommended Posts

Hi Ladies!

I am new to BDW. My FI and I are getting married this October at The Now Sapphire and I was wondering if anyone has done the Divine package that included the photo package and videography with Adventure Photo's?? We are trying to decide if we should go with the package photographer to save money, or if we need to spend the extra money and go with an outside vendor like Del Sol Photography.

Also any "do's or don'ts" at the resort? We are just having a small wedding with about 15 people, all which are family and close friends.

Thanks in advance!

Melissa

We brought our own paper lanterns (I bought them at party city) which we hung from the pergola at the Tequila Terrace.  The resort wanted to charge us $100 + service charge to hang these, we hung them ourselves to avoid the fee.  We brought the paper lanterns, scissors & fishing line.  The resort provided a ladder. We also brought our own ribbons for our chairs, I brought them on-line for less than a $1 each.  https://www.bbcrafts.com/shopping/card-checkout-result.shtml  The resort wanted to charged us $1 per chair + service charge to put them on the chairs, we did them ourselves.  I made my own reserved signs for the first row for our families.
Wow! Your posts are extremely helpful, thAnk you!!! How would the lighting be on the tequilla terrace if I did not bring anything?

I think a big issue with response time is the amount of weddings they are doing right now...I think 2-3 a day. I feel like communication can be limited but from reading blogs I have been able to find a lot of answers. Once the date is secured I feel like a lot of the pressure is off. There is a page under romance on their site that shows you a calendar with availability on it.. They may give you a little piece of mind until you hear from her. Good luck!

My card has been charged for the deposit, so I guess we got the date! So excited! Let the planning begin!

zeman321,

Sorry for the delay I have been out of touch. I knew within a week. I am also working with a TA but she sent in my information to Anel and copied me on the email so when Anel responded I knew right away. I would maybe contact your TA again, but I know from emailing with Anel a few times she can get back to me within a day or sometimes a week.

Good luck!!

Zeman,

Yea how very exciting. Oct will be here before you know it too. I am still in the crazy, we are really doing this stage. We just got our "Save the Date & Book a Room" invites. That is going to be how we invite the small group to Mexico, not sooo small we hope 25-35 people come.

Good luck!

We LOVED our 2 photographers, Anel & Jacob.  They were very reasonable, professional, incredible personalities & very responsive.  I highly recommend them.  We had them for a little over 3 hrs.  We used the resort photographers included in our wedding package for our cake cutting, dancing & candid photos of the reception.  1 hr & 24 photos were included.  The resort photographer took 163 photographs.  We were able to select our 24 photos prior to departure & received a CD with them.  Our video & photo book with the 24 resorts photos will arrive in about 4 weeks.  Our outside photographers will send us a slide show as well as a website with all of our photos.  Our guests will then be able to log on & download any of the pictures they would like.

PS we were not impressed with the resort photographer, she seemed timid & alot of our pictures ended up being the backs of people.  She just didn't know how to get into the crowd.

We highly recommend http://amorcitocorazonstudio.com/

Mya,

So the resort photographer that comes with the package is only around for 1 hour? We have the Divine wedding package. We are bringing a friend, but thought of using them for our "trash the dress" photo shoot.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
