@@ashlynm88 oh no, people are cancelling?! They must have only paid deposits so far? My guests are all paid in full, so no one will be cancelling unless they want to lose $1800! lol. Well, on the bright side, that means less that you guys have to pay for extra people! We have 32 in total.

@@jessiker05 - The final payment due date is next week, so I should have a good idea at that point and then I can start my welcome bags project and favors idea, along with the million other things I feel like I have to get done/buy haha! And yes I keep trying to look at the bright side of people canceling :) just a bummer they said Yay up front and now just decided to back out.

Cant wait to hear about your two's wedding !!!

Any tips after the wedding for future brides I would love to hear.

Has anyone used an out side florist? I find that $130 for one centerpiece is a bit ridiculous.......

I am wondering if the day before If I leave or a member of my group leaves the resort and go pick up some flowers and put them in vases that is considered "outside vendor" (Or pre ordered centerpieces)  - Juan has never mentioned anything about these extra fees, and I have yet to ask as I don't want to know the answer. It is interesting as some posts say the outside vendor fee was $300 and others said it was $400......They must just charge what they feel like ?

@@AmandaU I can't wait to tell you about it! ;) I have personally spoke to Juan and asked him how much the outside vendor fee is (for my DJ) and he told me $300 + tax. I can't comment on the outside florist, I heard others say that they used to just meet them outside of the resort to avoid the fee, but then the resort caught on and doesn't allow it anymore. I'm just going easy on the flowers bec I can't justify spending hundreds on them!

Question for previous brides. Divine package states free room upgrade. Did anybody here get an upgrade? If so from what type of room to what type room?

Fiancee really wants ocean view room but I'm not sure if it's worth it to upgrade now or wait.

We booked 2 rooms deluxe Jr suite tropical. It gets a bit tricky for us because the second room is for fiancee's kids and we want to do adjoining rooms so upgrading both rooms would be a lot more $ that I like to spend. Any suggestions?

Does anyone know if the Eternity package includes the ceremony arch, chairs (25) and chair covers (25) like the Divine package does? It doesn't list it in the 2015 Wedding Guide that I have - only for Divine. TIA

@@Gabyc22 I haven't had my wedding yet, so can't say from experience. It seems like lots of couples do get upgraded, but it depends on availability and is not guaranteed. If you need essentially 2 room upgrades (in order for them to be adjoining), I suspect that might be a bit more difficult to get.

Hi everyone,

My wedding is 50 days from today (!!!), so I'm trying to figure out some of the odds & ends, and hoping you can help with some questions I have.

  • Has anyone here gotten the video that is included with the Divine package? How long is it? What does it cover? Are you happy with it? If anyone is willing to share their video, that would be great. Feel free to PM me if you prefer.
  • Has anyone skipped the sparkling wine toast post ceremony and gotten anything in lieu? I don't really want to pay $5 per extra person for a toast, when we have an open bar and I understand will be served sparkling wine during dinner. My WC says use it or lose it (but won't let me only have 25 glasses of sparking wine).
  • Has anyone tried using the soloist for something other than the ceremony (Divine package)? We have a friend who will be playing his saxophone for our ceremony, so I wanted to have the soloist for the cocktail hour, but my WC says it's ceremony or nothing.

Thanks!

I've also asked Juan Carlos if I could use the guitarist during the cocktail hour and he said no.  It seems like they use to let brides change things or get other services in liue of but they don't anymore.

Well shoot I was only planning on using the 25 sparkling wine toast included in the package right after the ceremony for the bridal party and immediate family and not paying for more (I have 50 guests total), but I didn't ask if this was possible/allowed. I hope this isn't the case for the cake because we get dessert with dinner and not everyone will eat the cake anyways so I just want it to be for 25 too.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
