I'm looking for flower suggestions for mine and my bridesmaid's bouquets. I have the Eternity Package, but don't like the examples from the wedding book. I'm not really a fan of pink flowers, but maybe some coral.. Has anyone had an all-white bouquet? I need an idea of what other options I have in the package's price range. If anyone has suggestions or could share pictures of theirs I would appreciate it!

@@jessiker05 - Juan Carlos told me that you can pick any color from the types of flowers within the different packages in the wedding book. I think I am just doing Roses since they will hold up with the heat pretty well and my bouquet will probably be all white/ivory and then I am still going back and forth on DIY-ing my bridesmaids bouquets with oranges/bright pinks/white roses or having someone else make faux bouquets to bring with me or just paying for them through the resort and they will just be smaller than the Bride's Bouquet (I don't want them too big anyways). Juan Carlos said that certain flowers have an up-charge (not included in the wedding packages/examples) and include peonies, orchids, color calla lilies. Hope this helps a little bit. I am pretty much googling pictures to include in the form we have to turn in and letting the florist do her magic. Same for the center piece - can match with bouqets/colors.

Hi everyone!! Was initially booked for Royalton White Sands but with the CAD dollar being so low, we are looking very seriously at Now Sapphire. i got packages and pricing information from the Wedding Manager.

Just a question, we are looking to use the Divine Package, does that include open bar already? I noted in the wedding information pamphlet is says $15 per person per hour?

@@kdepass2 - The divine package will include 25 for ceremony (chairs), cocktail hour (drinks and snacks), and reception (dinner/drinks). Any amount above 25 will have the per person charge associated. Hope this helps!

@@ashlynm88 thank you, that does help! I especially had no idea what types of flowers were more or less expensive.. I don't know anything about flowers!! I'm starting to think maybe I'll just do white roses as well. Of course the other ones I like best are all the expensive ones that you listed off!  :P Your wedding is the day before mine! I'm at tequila terrace, where is yours?

@@vancouverpetunia - I think I got this site figured out a bit better. I was replying to your lights on the pergola.  I am also thinking of bringing some lights to set up. I wonder what my quote will come back at ....Good to know what they quoted you.

I really wanted the paper lanterns, but for 800$ :o I also inquired about a chandelier ($300...than changed it to $250 each) plus $500 for sheets to be hung around. :o - Bringing things from home are starting to seem like the thing to do!

Are you using the resort for flowers or going with an out side vendor ?

@@Kaitlyncrossley I posted a while back about our menu tasting when we visited in April 2015. We are doing Divine, but we did try a few things off the Eternity menu, so it might help a bit.

@@AmandaU I'm planning to use the resort florist. I only have 2 BMs and I think there is one BM bouquet in the Divine package, so not too much to add another.

FOOD MENU HELPPPPP!!! Our wedding is 1.5 months away and I'm freakkkkinnnggg out over details! What have you had and what are your recommendations from the eternity dinner packages?! Anything we should stay away from?

I was married 2 years ago, so I am not sure how similar the menu is, but what I chose is below.

The food is so good!

For cocktail hour we chose:

Salmon and dill cream cheese (my favorite!)

Shrimp wrapped in Bacon

Sliced tomato and mozzarella al pesto

Prosciutto ham bruschetta

Dinner:

Appetizer: Seared Tuna salad

Soup: Lobster Bisque

Main Course – Surf and Turf or Seafood Stuffed Chicken (guest choice)

Dessert – Cognac Truffle Cake

The tuna was phenomenal. Everyone raved about it. The Lobster soup was good also – complete with a fried seafood ravioli garnish! The surf and turf was served with shrimp and asparagus and was very good. The chicken was served over couscous. I had the chicken and wasn’t overly thrilled with it (I would say that was how I felt about the chicken at every meal I had over the week. It all tastes the same – very salty). The dessert was awesome, it was a chocolate-y decadent mouse/cake covered in a white chocolate shell.

Before the main course arrived our guests were served a second signature drink (different from the one at cocktail hour). I chose mango margaritas.

After the main course but before desert guests were served champagne, and this acted as a signal to start the speeches (this was Ramon’s suggestion). I think it was perfect timing!

After speeches we cut our cake. We chose Tres Leches. It looked beautiful. We only had 19 guests and the cake was 3 tiers. I brought a cake topper and Ramon had flowers added that were the same as my bouquet. I only tasted the bite that my husband and I fed each other after cutting and photos. It tasted good, but after that truffle cake dessert, nothing compared!

Also looking for main course recommendations... Can past Now Sapphire brides please comment on their main courses? We're trying to decide which two choices to offer. We did a menu tasting at the resort last year and loved the beef filet bordelaise, but weren't so keen on the supreme of chicken stuffed with seafood (dry & not a lot of flavor) and the surf & turf (not very tender and too much gristle). We'd like to add a poultry or seafood option. We have the Divine package, but open to the Eternity menu as well. Has anyone had the grilled salmon (Eternity) or shrimp provencal (Divine)?

@@jessiker05 - Yea I wasn't sure if I wanted to just make my own and drag them down with us or what... Still going back and forth but I keep thinking that they will look too fake to me haha I may just end up having the resort do the bouqs so I don't have to lug them down with us. I didn't want anything too extravagant and I already asked Juan Carlos about my colors, and I'm basically just leaving it up to them pretty much. We are on the beach terrace. I wanted Tequila Terrace haha but we really wanted to go this week and it wasn't available and with the number of guests we had at first the preferred pool was too small...but now we have people canceling left and right so oh well! We went from 75 stating they were coming to about 55 right now. How many guests do you have?

@@ashlynm88 oh no, people are cancelling?! They must have only paid deposits so far? My guests are all paid in full, so no one will be cancelling unless they want to lose $1800! lol. Well, on the bright side, that means less that you guys have to pay for extra people! We have 32 in total.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
