@@jessiker05 - if you are using the basic chairs there is no moving fee - it's just if you use the special chairs then it comes out cheaper to pay to move them than to rent separate ones for the ceremony and reception.  :)

I am slowly adding some photos to my gallery on here but the upload process is terrible and keeps crashing.

@@jessiker05 - I managed to get a few up from the reception that give you an idea on the lighting.  You can see the flood lights they set up on the terrace if you don't rent any of the special ones, and the light that comes through the windows, there really is plenty of light.  I can email you more pictures if you want since uploading them here is proving to be a big challenge.

Hello! I am getting married August 15th! Does anyone know or have any expereince in bringing sky lanterns or sparklers on the plane with them or if they did it at the resort? I want to buy these and bring them with me I am just nervous about traveling with them. Please let me know! Thanks!

I can't speak for sky lanterns but if you google sparklers on here you will find they are a large no no on the plane. It's a restricted item as I believe they throw it in the 'fireworks' category. I know Katy from Love and Lace in playa sells them (she has a Facebook site) and some ladies mentioned that some dj's so as well - depending if you are using one. Good luck!! And enjoy, can't believe how close you are. Congrats :)

My mom found some sparklers at the dollar store before our wedding.  She brought them on the plane and figured if they were confiscated it wouldn't be that big of a deal since she spent so little on them.  They weren't taken, and made for some fun photos!  The resort didn't have a problem with the sparklers (I didn't tell them I was going to have them though - my mom just brought them).  I am fairly certain that sky lanterns are not allowed, but check with your WC.

My aunt bought sky lanterns and all the resorts say that they are prohibited. They are very strict about trashing the ocean. Also do not use fabric flower petals, all loose decor on the beach must be biodegradable.

Hello!! The BIG day is  May 25, 2016!! So excited. Love this forum! This is what I have so far, and some other ideas.

Wedding Date- 5/25/16

Time- 5pm

Wedding package- Your moments

Location- Beach (yes that's all it says, anyone know where it might be then? I know its not Tequila terrace)

Photography- Photos in Cancun-  4hr package

Wedding coordinator- Juan Carlos, I love following him on instagram, he post pictures and it gets me so excited about our wedding!!

We are having a big reception when we return from Mexico, so we decided to not have one while we are there. So this is my idea, I would feel bad not having anything but a ceremony for all the people who decide to travel with us. We are inviting everyone on our guest list (my mother says it would be rude not to) but I do not think many will attend, but we will see.

If guest list is less than 25

       Wedding ceremony @5pm

Dinner and cake at a restaurant @7pm( I hope they let me do it then I read somewhere it had to be at 6pm) $24 per person

Cocktail hour @pm with speaker for music- $15per person + sound system, location fee?

       then head to the club

More than 25

     Ceremony @5pm

dinner and cake at buffett @7pm

     cocktail hour @9pm with speakers

     then head to the club

I plan on doing a thank you note with custom wedding koozies for our guest, debating on when to give them out? Options

1)The day of arrival at lobby bar, just let everyone know we will be there for a FREE welcome drink during certain hours?

  2) at dinner after ceremony

  3) on chairs at ceremony, could include info for dinner and cocktail hr on the reverse side of thank you note

I am almost finished with my Save the dates, and will mail them out this next week. I got the awesome boarding pass template from a bride on this site I will try to post a link and a picture of mine soon.

*I am only sending out a Save the date for the wedding and a invitation for the At home reception. Save the date includes wedding website for information about traveling with us.

I attached my Save the date pictures, as well as the word document. I cant figure out how to paste a link to the brides post that I got it from.... Can anyone tell me? when I right click paste it doesn't work.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
