We have a package that includes pictures too, but I've heard very mixed things about the resort photographer and so we hired our own. For photographers, you only have to buy the day pass, which is $65 and not pay the entire vendor fee.

Yes, I was charged 2015 pricing, then I also got a quote for the flowers, then when they sent over the estimate it went up $25/each. So I am brining the email to prove our communication instead of trying to fight over email.

Wow. That's bs. If you were quoted one price and have a budget sheet from the resort that reflects that, I am absolutely boggled as to how they think they could get away with raising you after the fact. I think FI will flip out if Juan Carlos tries to switch the price on us. He's an attorney and will use that if he has to.

Is anyone going with the resort photographer? We are doing the Moments package and the 25 pictures of just the ceremony is not enough. Does anyone know if you can upgrade the package or add on without having to purchase a whole package? i.e. the $699 amber package? Sorry I feel like I am asking so many questions! Just trying to find out here instead of driving my Travel Agent nuts!! :)

We are doing outside vendor as well. We are using "Photos in Cancun" and also using them for a TTD shoot as well. Was worried about the reviews of the resorts photographers.

I am so sorry to keep asking so many questions but here's another one :) I have ordered the vases, candle holders, and a ton of other wedding supplies but now how do I get them to Mexico? I read somewhere that we can only take $300 worth of wedding supplies with us on the flight, is that true? And I also read that you have to have a note in spanish explaining that everything is for your wedding? Please advise.

Thanks! And Merry Christmas!

You carry on your decorations, check a bag with clothes and then see if anyone else will carry on a bag for you. You can carry your dress on too.

You can pay additional for each photo you want.  For us last year it was 15$ each photo.  They quoted us 500 for all of the photos from the ceremony.  I was very pleased with the resort photographer.  We wanted to choose way more than 25 pictures but had to limit ourselves.  We went over by 3 pictures and paid the extra 45$.

@@CurlyKristen this is the first time I'm hearing about this - yikes! Can I just ask where you read about it? FI will be taking a lot of stuff with us too!! We're taking OOT bags and its contents, vases, lanterns, placecards.... def over $300 worth of stuff but my thought is, how would they know how much it cost?

I was so upset when Juan Carlos emailed me saying that the 2015 prices went up and would apply to my wedding.  I booked last February and specifically asked then if I booked at this price then would they honor it if the prices went up since they prices for 2015 weren't available yet.  I was told when I booked by Anel that the price would be honored.  I asked Juan Carlos if they would honor the 2014 price since that is what I was promised and he said they would only honor it if I paid the package balance by December 31st.  I went ahead and paid it since it will save several hundred in both the increase and the tax. Just frustrated.

I did get the Bluetooth Bose speaker that I asked for from my fiance for Christmas so I have that now for our music for the cocktail hour and the reception.  I realized the other day that I only have 4 months left and I'm starting to freak out just a bit.  I have so much left to do.  How is planning coming for everyone else?

I am very nervous he is going to try to pull this on my next month. I have the email saying they will honor the pricing. Everything is becoming so complicated!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
