We took the napkins, chair sashes, table runners, lanterns for the centerpieces, and the wooden V's for the centerpieces, and of course the thank you gifts and cards. We used the resort for the flowers. I ordered 1 bridesmaid bouquet,1 extra boutonniere, 4 centerpieces, flowers for her hair and the cake, and a lazzo. They charged 783 total for all the flowers not included in the package. We had 27 adults and 2 children and the total bill was 4370.26 (Plus the $500.00 deposit) We did not go with a DJ because we only had 28 people. I bought a bluetooth speaker and it worked great! I did not pay for any extra lighting....their prices were outrageous! We had the lanterns on the table and it was perfect...didn't really need any more. I kept the final bill if you want to know prices on anything else. Let me know!       Those pictures really don't do it justice...it was beautiful! The colors seem dull in the pics. Oh, and I found the table runners on Etsy for $6 each! We also took the silver chargers....at his mothers" insistence...I'm not sure if they would have used chargers or not.

I'm just curious what package did you use? I have about 30 people as well and I can't seem to keep the bill under $7000.00 with the Divine Package. I want my total to be closer to yours lol!

We did the Divine package, but not a lot of extras. Like I said, we took most of the linens and centerpieces. Just did flowers from the resort. We didn't have a DJ, just a bluetooth speaker and an Ipod. Flowers were our splurge. We also just added two hours to the photographer but didn't up the package, hoping to talk them down on the photos. I even took the large starfish for decor because they wanted $20 each to rent!

Few questions ladies.

Is using an outside florist really that much cheaper than the resort? Some of the pricing I got back makes it seem like they are very close in price.

Anyone having an evening wedding on the tequila terrace? What are you doing about lighting? I got pictures back from Juan Carlos and it looks like there are only two small flood lights. It is $850 plus tax to get Chinese lanterns. Any other ideas???

Does anyone know how much it costs to rent table runners and napkins?

Any suggestions on how to get in touch with guests without using international rates?

Everything looks beautiful. What items did your daughter bring and what did she rent? Where did she get the chevron table runner? What was the price for each bouquet? Was this wedding in the morning or evening? What was the lighting like?

I am using an outside florist but I also need a lot of bouquets and centerpieces, way cheaper!!!

Table runners are $6 color napkins $4

Hi Everyone,

Forgive me if this is a duplicate question but I just stumbled upon this site yesterday, read through about 200 pages of comments, and couldn't figure out the answer! I've just reserved the Beach Terrace and REALLY want to bring in some of those round Chinese lanterns but keep seeing the eye-popping $1,000 quote for the resort to set them up! Is the price still $1,000 just for the setup?? Have any of you had any luck hanging them yourselves? I've seen other posts that reference hanging them off the pergolas on the Tequila Terrace but am curious if there are any natural ways to do this on the BT without too much extra hassle. TIA!!

I think you might have to have poles...I really didn't see any other way, but I wasn't looking for one either, so maybe I'm wrong.

Did you use the resort photographer? What package did you get and how many pics? Right now I'm looking at about 1100 for the photographer

For those of you who used outside vendors, does the resort charge the outside vendor fee for each one (photog, DJ, etc.) or is it a one-time charge?

@@SoozeCruise we are using an outside DJ and an outside photographer. The fee is $300 per vendor, but they make an exception for photographers which I don't understand but I'm not complaining! Photographers just need a day pass, which is $65.

I looked into lanterns as well. I was planning to bring my own - I had originally purchased a handful on theknot.com just to see if I liked them. They were about $1 each I believe and really pretty. I'm guessing that $1,000 figure is if you rent the lanterns from the resort, because Juan Carlos quoted me $400 for labor if I supply them because there are also poles that need to be set-up. I thought that was outrageous so we nixed that idea.

Great! I'm likely going with Maya Floral. I'm constant contact with Mavin and he is doing my samples now. Let me know if you can indeed get around that $300 fee if someone meets the florist. I can't wait to hear all about your wedding. Your date is so close.

I was about to go with Maya Floral as well, until Juan Carlos told me that they no longer allow you to meet the florist at the gate (which is how you could get around the $300 vendor fee) unless I had that option in writing from them, which I did not. We don't have tons of extra flowers though - we are making our own centerpieces and they require some flowers, but not much. I think if you have a large flower order it is worth it even with the vendor fee. For us, it was about a $60 difference so it was no longer worth it since we would've had to pay that extra fee.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
