Hello Brides!

I am very new to the wedding planning thing. I haven't booked with Now Sapphire yet but its one of  my top choices. I'm also looking at Now Jade or El Dorado Royale. I'm concerned about cost. Now only for my fiance and I but also for my guests. How much, those who are at the final stages of planning, past brides, or anybody who has a pretty clear idea. What was your wedding budget or final cost OVERALL. And by this I mean everything from invites to dress to venue and decor. I want to understand if this is even an option for me. Also, how much are your guests paying for the trip air/hotel. I envision a VERY simple wedding. I'm having no wedding party, so I'll only need one bouquet, as for centerpieces if I'm having flowers it'll be simple white roses. Guests, I'm thiking will be around 30, but I'll budget for 60. Please, any ideas of overall cost, or breakdowns, would be so so appreciated. If, you'd like to email, my email address is desiree.m.gomez@@gmail.com. Thanks so much ladies! and Good luck!

I haven't had my wedding yet, but I can give you some feedback that will hopefully be helpful.

El Dorado - BEAUTIFUL property!! That's where we're going for our honeymoon. I stayed at another Karisma property and toured El Dorado, had the food - all incredible. That said, when you work with a Karisma property, you are obligated to use their vendors, all of which are booked through their agency, Lomas. They're very expensive. If you're looking for something cost effective, I don't think this is a good choice. The rooms are also pricey. I can't speak about their wedding coordinators because I never got that far. We did the bride's dress rehearsal ($399 for 3 nights - worth looking into.) and crossed it off our list after doing a breakdown on costs and pros and cons against the other properties we looked at.

Now Sapphire - We were able to get all of our 'must haves' and 'would like to haves' here. We booked the highest package (Divine) and hired a DJ and photographer externally. Based on 40 guests, we're looking at about $9,500. This does not include accommodations for us, flights, honeymoon, invitations, decorations or dress. When that's all said and done, we'll be at the $20,000 mark or so.Hope that helps.

Any past brides have any advice on if a dance floor is needed on Tequila Terrace?  We currently have a lighted dance floor that we are renting with our DJ, but it's an added expense that I sure would like to chop, if possible.  Curious how dancing works on the terrace without the dance floor -- mainly, if ladies heels will be an issue??  Thanks in advance!!  26 days to go!!!  Weeeeeeee

I just got married at the Now Sapphire several days ago, and as a matter fact I am still here. I just wanted everybody to rest a sure that the wedding was beautiful, and you have made a good decision. Juan Carlos is excellent, and is tireless. I have a full review done under the now Sapphire page if you have any other questions. If you have any other questions, you can always message me.

We budgeted $10,000 for our wedding.  That included everything from invitations to the cost of the wedding package and everything in-between (rings, attire, wedding party gifts, extra flowers, decor).  I am happy to say that we were under budget!  Though we were able to cut costs on things like decor and photography (my sister did photos outside of the ceremony).  We had 19 people including ourselves but the cost would have been the same for 25 with the Divine package we had selected.  Add approximately $100 per person to your budget for every person over 25.  There has been a lot of talk on this thread from brides with 50+ people and how they were able to keep their costs lower.  With your vision of a simple wedding you can definitely stay on budget!

We then had additional money budgeted for the cost of our trip and a second week at a different resort.  Flying from Canada our guests paid anywhere from $1,500 to 1,700 per person for one week.  That included flights, transfers, and the stay at the resort.  Guests booked about 5-6 months prior to our November wedding.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask me.

Looks amazing! Congrats. Did you use the resort for flowers? Who did your DJ?

Thank you:)

We used the resort florist. I debated about this, as I could have saved some money using an outside florist, but in the end, the $200 savings wasn't worth the hassle, out was easier to just trust in the wedding coordinator. I sent him photos of my flower preferences and he ordered the flowers.

We used Dj Mannia, who was great.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
