Now Sapphire Weddings Formerly Paradisus Riviera

@@niknic456 I actually went with Now Sapphire because a few travelers posted pictures of bed bugs at Now Jade. Maybe it is a problem in Mexico over all? Did you ask to be moved from those rooms? How did the hotel staff handle it?

I'm hoping one of you can help me with this...

I am having my wedding at the Now Sapphire on April 18,2015 and need to know the best way to block off the rooms. When I asked the hotel for a room block/discounted group rate they sent me a contract with the same rates that were on their website, and the contract wouldn't even guarantee that rooms would be available (just that the rate wouldn't increase for the first 20 rooms booked). It seems a little weird to me how they don't offer any special deals for a group when we are looking to book 20-40 rooms.

How are you all reserving your rooms for your guest and if you're going through a travel agent do you mind sending me their contact?

Thanks for your help!

@@KathyandEthan I am using a travel agent who allows u to prebook rooms but u have to puta deposit on them .. I chose not to do that Bc I didn't know what room types every one would want . He is working w the resort to try and get rooms together but I don't think it's a guarantee.. I leave for my wedding next week and I can let u know what ends up happening. I can also give u his email and phone number to get in contact w him if you'd like .. He is based out of buffalo but I live in va beach

Hello ladies!

I have just 2 weeks left and the wedding planning stress is finally hitting me.

I just got an email back from Ramon about my wedding planning form and he is telling me the bouquet that I sent a picture of is going to cost me $350 even though I have the divine package. I don't understand and it is freaking me out because I planned my whole wedding theme around these flowers that I want and I didn't have all this extra money in my budget.

Has anyone else had a problem with the flowers that should be provided with the package??

Is it the actual flower that you are more particular about, or the color?  For me, colors were more important and they made my bouquet with flowers that matched my colors.  If you are more particular about the type of flowers, it may cost more.  Many flowers aren't readily available in Mexico, or aren't in season and that is what adds the extra money.

Thanks so much @@niknic456!  Your wedding pics are so nice as well!

@@ranidae23 I was quoted $350 for my bouquet as well, but asked Ramon if there was any way I could do something similar with different flowers to make it a part of the package and not have to pay extra.  He recommended different flowers and my bouquet looked almost exactly the same as what I sent.

@@KathyandEthan I booked through a Canadian travel agent and they were able to hold flights and seats for us.  I booked in May 2013 and people didn't have to put down their $100 deposit until August 2013.  It might be worth it for you to contact a TA to help with this.  They have relationships with the hotels and chains and can often do more than the average person can.

Can anyone shed some light on what kind of hidden costs there might be??  I have read a bunch of the posts and see things like speaker rentals (which I would have assumed would be included in the cost of the DJ?), dance floor rental??  Is the dance floor not included in the cost of the different wedding packages?  I'm a little lost and also not sure how to navigate this site yet to figure things out!  Any help is greatly appreciated!!  Would love to see someone's budget sheet, if possible!!  THANK YOU!!!!

Hi Ladies!

If you choose to get different chairs for the ceremony and reception, do you pay for them twice??  Any ideas??

Also, is the dance floor included in the Divine package?  Or do you have to pay extra for it?  What about the speakers that will be needed for the DJ?  Is that extra too??

Has anyone used their VIP upgrades from the preferred club suites up to the Govenors suite?  We currently have the Gov Suite booked for our stay, but if we're able to get that as the free upgrade, we'd most certainly like to do that since the cost difference is so severe.

Any help is SOOO appreciated!!  Our wedding is Nov 8, 2014 and we've been engaged for over a year but I am JUST NOW getting my butt in gear and becoming obsessed with the planning!  :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
