@Melissa Erling  or any of the other girls once you send in your planning form will they talk to you on the phone or are they more responsive once it gets closer to your date? I really don't want to wait until we get there to confirm certain things plus i have questions on some of the food options, etc.

I am getting married May 8th! In my experience in the beginning it took 1-2 months for them to respond back to my e-mails. The last 2-3 weeks Juan gets back to me in 1-2 days normally.

For the ladies who had two dinner entree optinos did you order both from divine menu or eternity menu? I am hoping to mix 1 from divine and 1 from eternity. Id on't even care if I pay the higher price for the eternity ones. I already put it on my RSVP card two options I wanted so hoping they just accomodate it. I know they aren't making other changes but I think this one they will. If not I will have to just tell them my RSVPs alrady went out and people already placed their order. I'm spending so much darn $$ at the resort I'm hoping I'll get a break on SOMETHING!!

I have found that communication has gotten a lot better as my wedding date nears.  At one point I was waiting 1 - 2 months for an answer.  Now it seems like every 4 - 5 days.  Sometimes 1 - 2.

I need to submit my wedding planning form by the end of this week and I can't decide if I want to have the Spa do my makeup or my mother who has a passion for makeup. I have read mixed reviews and was wondering if anyone has pictures of their makeup from the Now Spa! Thanks!

I am going with the Spa for my hair & make-up.  I guess it really depends how good your Mom is.  If you think she can make your ideal look happen, I would say go with your Mom.

@gannonham- glad to hear it worked out. Can't believe your wedding is only a MONTH away!!! So exciting.

I can't believe it either!  It feels like it went from 8 months to 1 month in a blink of an eye!  So excited!!

I was told by Anel that we could mix & match dinner menus between Divine and Eternity.  We are getting the Divine package, so I'm not sure if that's the reason we are able to, but I don't see why you wouldn't be able to if you were willing to pay the difference.

What are you choosing for your menu options?

Does anyone know what seafood the chicken supreme is stuffed with?

@gannonham- I gave the guests the option of the salmon from eternity and the surf and turf from divine. I am paying for the divine package but need a nice fish option as I have quite a few non-meat eaters. I know they have vegetarian meals too but the salmon works for everyone who won't eat meat.

Not sure about the chicken supreme. Where are you getting married? beach terrace or tequila terrace?

All of the seafood options looks amazing, but we have quite a few non-seafood-eaters coming with us.  That's why I'm wondering about the seafood in the chicken.  We also have a few vegetarians coming and I think we will just do a vegetarian lasagna or something along those lines.

We are getting married on the tequila beach and having our cocktail hour + reception on the tequila terrace.  How about you @vanessav53?  And when is your big day?

We had the seafood stuffed chicken as one of our entrees.  It was stuffed with seafood.  Shrimp I think.  The stuffing was very tasty, but the chicken was VERY salty.  I had many chicken dishes during our stay at the NS.  All of them were extremely salty.  I would suggest that if you can, try to avoid offering a chicken dish.

@vanessav53 I would imagine that you can mix and match and they shouldn't charge you extra!

@Melissa_Ehrling - I had my makeup done at the spa.  I really liked it, but I rarely wear more than mascara.  My sister had hers done and she didn't like it at all. I would say do a trial with your mom.  If you like it, go with her.  The ladies at the spa are super sweet, but their english isn't the strongest.  Communication might be an issue if you want something specific done with your makeup.  You can see pictures in my gallery for the makeup.

The webinar was pretty informative, although for some reason there was a lot of background noise at times and some of the questions never really got answered. Basically with the packages they still have some flexibility, you can give your hair and makeup or massage to someone else you just have to make the reservation in your name, and you can use the photography piece pretty much anytime you want if you are using an outside photographer. That made me feel better, seems like the only thing they are really going to be strict about is using the soloist for the ceremony only and not cocktail hour. However, they said that if you ask they can send samples of the soloists and a playlist so at least you know what to expect.

I guess since I'm paying for it, i will use the soloist for when guests are being seated and then maybe just as background music during the ceremony, has anyone else done that?

Also, on the tequila terrace, they said to rent the poles used to hang lanterns/lights is $500, is there another light source? Or will we be dining in the dark if I don't rent or bring some sort of lanterns?

I still love this resort and I'm glad I picked it, I'm just a bit surprised still how quickly all the extras add up. That $3k package is quickly adding up to $10K. BUT, it's still cheaper and nicer than a $10K wedding here or at a lot of the other resorts. I'm just going to have to go back through this forum for other brides cost-cutting ideas :). I'm also going to go cut my guest list right now!!

OH, and for those who we're asking about menus, they are very flexible. They said you could even do an extra appetizer instead of soup if you want, they just have to have all the final info and counts with your planning form 45 days in advance.

I am so sad that I missed the webinar this morning. I have been planning and waiting for this for months now and there was just no way I could be at home this morning. My sister's boyfriend died yesterday from cancer. We all have been trying to be there for her and so the webinar didn't even cross my mind. When I got back home at 2pm and logged onto the website that's when it hit me that the webinar was today. Did anyone record it or take notes?  My techie and husband-to-be also said there was a site we could use to send large files up to 2gb for free at https://www.wetransfer.com/ if that helps? I just feel like I am at a disadvantage planning this wedding without hearing the webinar.

I didn't record it but I did join in. What questions did you have? I will try to answer them if they were covered in the webinar!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
