Can anyone recommend a travel agent that has worked with Now Sapphire in the past? I was thinking about getting a few quotes here shortly. Thanks! :D

I am working with tripcentral.ca

The lobby bar is likely your best bet for a casual cocktail hour/happy hour.  It is much more calm and tranquil compared to the pool bar, or beach bar.  I would suggest you organize it for late in the afternoon (maybe 4:30-5pm), as at the dinner hour the lobby gets very busy and it might be difficult to find enough space amongst the other guests.  Unless Anel reserves some seating for you.  While I was there I did notice that there was one night where there was a reserved area (with no one in it!).

We went to dinner a few nights with 12 people with no extra charge.  Perhaps the cost is due to reserving a table? It's first come first serve at the a la carte restaurants at the NOW.  With these larger parties we had to show up before the opening time for the restaurant (15-20 minutes before they opened), or wait until they could accommodate us (once it was 9:30).  We often had dinner with 8 and that didn't seem to be as much as a problem.  It seemed that the Asian restaurant was the most popular, we waited a long time for that restaurant!

Thanks for the welcome cokcktail reception tip, Dina!  We were thinking 8pm, so people could spend the day in the pool and meet us after dinner (or before), but maybe 4:30 / 5pm works better so people can meet up pre-dinner.

Since we have such a large group of people coming with us, I have a feeling that we are going to show up at a restaurant and meet up with a bunch of people randomly.  Most likely, those people are going to want to all eat together.  Did you ever have more than 12 people?  And did they push tables together for you?

Also, are there any late night snack places open?  I am thinking there will probably be a few disco nights and we will likely want to grab a bite before heading to bed.

can anyone tell me if the plain white gazebo decor is included in eternity package? i've read different things on this forum and im so confused now!

We had just the your moments package since we just had 6 people and it was included....it's 200 for each different colors...I think all of the packages come with the white. :)

My invitations are being mailed out today! It's officially official! So exciting!

Apple vacations were wonderful. They even help you out on the resort, if you need them too. They also offer the direct ride to the resort instead of dropping people off on the way which was great! The rates were really good as well!

We always ordered room service if it was super late, and you can get that all the time. :) it was very convenient, there is so much food there though, it's crazy! During the entertainment they set out snacks as well. They also have a cafe/coffee place there that has the best paninis ever, in between the times the restaurants aren't opened. I think I might have gained 10 lbs from eating so much there lol

I am so happy to hear this ... I love to eat, LOL!  I will try not to indulge TOO much until after the wedding, though  :P   What were your favourite restaurants, @@meganator22?  And do you know what time the disco stays open until?

Hahaha I am the same way. I am not sure I went 2 hours without eating there. Embarrassing but we even put paninis in our bags and walked the beach for a couple hours haha I want to say the disco was open until 2ish...maybe later. There's live entertainment In the lobby too...that's where most everyone hung out until they were done. The band is awesome! So much energy! And they have different themed nights. One night is Mexican night and they had a donkey and Mexican vendors and stuff there too. Oh my word I want to be back there now haha we had a blast at night time...and during the day and every second hahaha everyone ranted and raved about paramour...we didn't eat there though because we have a 2 year old and wanted to eat dinner with him. The sushi was super good and had a Mexican flair to it...one had plantains and cream cheese...mmmmm but I suggest if you do go there order 2 meals...you get a lot of courses but the sushi is small. The hibachi...which is attached to the Japanese restaurant I thought was wonderful too. The buffet, we ate there the most...great selection!! HUGE selection actually. During lunch they had some sort of design your own thing, whether it be burgers, fajitas, stir fry, etc. Breakfast they had pick your own omelette thing there and crepes. Fresh daily juice...like actual real juice which was impressive to me...fruit...basically everything! The blue water grill was decent but not my favorite...the seagulls try to attack your food out there too!

Vanessa - yea to sending out invites! I loved that part as well. I'm not sending out another round. I was thinking about doing an evite a week or so before to tell them about the casual happy hour we want to do the night before our wedding.

Dina - as for the vows my other half isn't too big about writing his own vows. I was thinking about putting together a nice short one that both of us can say, but want some prompts from the minister. Do you think they would help incorporate that as well?

Also do they seam wedding dresses and suits at the resort?

Gannoham - I know time is going to fly by!! We aren't planning any for sure events for people. It's more like I know I want to go snorkeling so I will tell people and whoever wants to come can. I didn't want to be the "cruise director" for the whole week. I know my group is just ready to all hang out on the beach. I have heard there are vendors at the resort that can help you.

Past brides were the vendors helpful to get you out snorkeling, or other off site excursions?

There are people there all the time that just help you with excursions...there's also the tiki where you get yout towels at that sell snorkeling, diving, fishing and other things. I would definitely try and talk your way down with them because right down the beach, there are vendors that sell it for wayyyy cheaper. If you go to puerto morelos, which is a 45 min walk down the beach, there's lots of places that'll take you out snorkeling as well. The people at the resort are very helpful and have soooo many different excusions.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
