CurlyKristen - I feel your pain! I was in the same spot when I just set my date. I felt like they just took my money and now it is no communication. I thought "hit them where it hurts" and social media. I got a response back right away because their social media specialist contacted Anel and handled it. With this all my friends and family saw what I posted and commented on it as well. I just stayed on them. I know you shouldn't have to TRUST me because when it all boils down to it - it's their job. What is hard for me to understand is how they have Anel and Ramon and Ramon seemed like the only one running the show when you are down there from what I hear from other posts. Don't give up yet and try facebook first. I had to contact them on there and then I still didn't hear anything from Anel in a week and I wrote again. I am so glad I stuck with them and I don't regret the time I took to put into it. =] You got it girl! If you have questions PLEASE feel free to send me a list of questions. I have pictures as well as stuff from when Anel sent me stuff. Don't hesitate!

So ladies, I have to share this with you because I am so so excited. I went back and forth with ordering pashminas for my OOT bags BUT the weddding is in june and it really will not get cooler tahn 75 degrees ( even at night) so I keep looking at found the most amazin sarongs ( coverups) online for about $3.00 a piece. They arrived today and they are gorgeous! They come assorted so they are all different and for the price they are such an amazing quality. I really reccomend these if you are looking for something extra special. I am going to include a little card in the welcome bag with a few pics on diff ways to wear the sarong!

Here is the website where I ordered them. LIke i said quality is amazing-- like something you would buy in a store and really reasonable price ( $3.00 each!)

Let me know if you have any questions!

@curlykristen- Unfortunatley they aren't in a rush to respond to you because your wedding is not until 2015. A few months ago I was getting so frustrated and I kept calling and telling them I needed answers they would answer but basically the feeling I got was that my wedding was too far away for them to keep talking to me. They said once I sent in my planning form 30 days before wedding theyw oudl set up a call with me to discuss and then again when I got to the resort. I know it's annoying ( i feel the same way) but I don't think they will consistently respond to you the way you want them to. Try not to get upset because if will ruin the rest of hte planning experience for you. Janders is right. YOu should just honestly write all of your questions on here because I bet that all the of the past brides and current brides can answer about 85% of your questions.

Also they are having a webinar on March 22nd so Iw ould sign up for that as well to get some basic questions answered. I am sorry you are feeling stressed about it. I got myself worked up the first month or so and then I just read everything on this website and realized everyone went throuigh this and ALL of the brides have only WONDERFUL things to say about their specail day so I just gave up on worrying and now I am trying to leverage the info on this site and just wait for 30 days before to get what i need. The good thing is that you have plenty of time and I am getting married in June so i Promise I will tell you EVERYTHING you want to know. youc an even call me if you want to talk over hte phone. Whatever makes you feel better but you need to try to relax and ENJOY!!!

Hi Ladies

for those of you who got married on beach terrace was there enough space for a dance floor or for dancing? I'm haing 75 guests and the pictures on the resort website are hard to tell how the set up will be with all the tables plus dancefloor? I'm assuming it will work out but feeling weird because never saw the resort!

I am so over waiting for Anel to respond to emails. I haven’t heard a word from her since she confirmed our date, time, and location and took the deposit. It has been over a month of waiting for her to respond to one email. I almost feel like I should start looking for a different resort.   :(

CurlyKristen,

Don't get frustrated. As we have said many times on this blog, you have to remember they only have 3 people working on all these weddings and it looks like yours isn't until next year. I understand how you want to plan everything now and get it done. But realize they will help you and get everything done. I would say enjoy getting the stuff done up here as much as you can and ask us brides on here to fill in the blanks when they aren't able to.

My wedding is a little over 3 months away and I just got in contact with them more recently as my day is approach. I have gotten all my questions answers since we booked last July. Know you will get your answers, but you might have to be patient. Enjoy the ride, you choose a destination to make it relaxing and let it do it. Hope this helps and relaxes your nerves. Its an exciting time!!

Thanks everyone for their encouraging words! I totally understand that my wedding isn't even on their radar right now. And with all the reviews I have read and brides that I have talked to that have gotten married at Now Sapphire they all say that communication is horrible. I do plan to attend the webinar and hopefully get a better idea of what is to come and have some of my questions answered. I am actually super excited for the webinar. It's just hard feeling like something is missing like communicating with your resort and having the open relationship with your wedding coordinator as you plan your wedding. I know...I know..welcome to planning a destination wedding :)

Did anyone ever get an answer about the possibility and price of a private buffet setup if you have 50+ ppl? I know this used to be an option but don't see anything about it in the wedding book they sent with my confirmation. We are trying to keep the guest list down because I know each person over 25 is like $100 but we might not be able able to keep it small enough, so I'm hoping a buffet might work out a bit cheaper.

Also, how did you guys book your rooms for your group? Anyone book a block directly with the hotel or did you use an agent? I've gotten a couple of quotes from agencies, but seems like they want everyone to book within 30 days or want $100 deposit per room, both seem unreasonable to me.

I'm so excited to be sharing this experience with all you amazing ladies! All the great ladies and posts on this board helped me decide this was the resort for us! Thanks!!

Our travel agent went through Apple vacations and everyone booked their own trip through her. We did not have to put a deposit down on anyone elses room, just ours. The final payment is due 45 days before they take off.

Does anyone know what size table overlays the round tables at Sapphire take? I need to order, but dont know what size!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
