@@van83 I was planning on using at cocktail hour too. Many of the brides were able to do that. I would go back to her and tell her that you konw otehr brides were able to do this and why aren't you able to? I'm sure I'll have to have the same conversation with her if that's the case.

I used the guitarist for my cocktail hour from 4:30-5:30.  He played a variety of songs and was wonderful.  He played some new songs and some old, most were love-type songs, but they were all great.  I didn't confirm the guitarist until our planning meeting 2 days before the wedding...

@@reidjenn I hired Amoritocorazon for less than $2000. I'm getting married in June so not sure if prices changes depending on the season. Many of the brides have used this photographer and have had WONDERFUL reviews. I have them booked for 6 hours on the day of my wedding. Hope this helps .If you want more information feel free to PM me or email me at vanessa.vlahakis@@gmail.com

For those of you who have already had your weddings did you get a room upgrade? I'm really hoping we get one!

We did not get a room upgrade.  I did not ask for one either at check-in.  We booked a preferred club Ocean View room.  Our room was perfect, I wouldn't have wanted anything different.  It was in building 1, close to our family and friends and right beside the pool.  Close to everything.

Thanks for everyone's responses. I sure hope we can use the soloist at our cocktail hour, I haven't heard back from Anel yet.

Are you able to pay for the wedding costs with a credit card at the resort? I assume we can?

Yes, a credit card was how we paid for the entire cost.  Also, they charge in USD, not Pesos, which was great as the exchange rate worked better for us that way.  Payment was due the day before the wedding.

Has anyone inquired or have any info about using the photo booth addition? We are thinking about it but wanted to see if anyone had experience or info :)Also, anel said we could not use the soloist for our cocktail hour without a reason. I have emailed back asking for a reason and why other brides were able to. As soon as I hear from her I will post the response--going on week 3 lol.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
