Now Sapphire Weddings Formerly Paradisus Riviera

Recommended Posts

Has anyone had a small wedding with only a few people? we were expecting wayyyy more then just his parents and a friend, but turns out that everyone bailed, which I guess is understandable. I am filling out this form now and am kind of down as how silly a few chairs will look.

Hello Now Sapphire brides!

My husband and I just got back (yesterday!) from our wedding in Now Sapphire.  We had 65 people and we chose the Divine Package. I have a lot of comments, recommendations, tips, etc. to share with you all! I promise I will share my review with you as soon as I have it (I know it will be a long one!).  For now, there are three things I'd like to recommend:

1) do not worry about the communication issues - The Now Sapphire is basically a Wedding Factory! They have 2-3 weddings every single day!  My recommendation is: grab the phone and call Ramon, he is amazing and his English is PERFECT! Just avoid calling him around 12pm or 3 - 5pm Central Time, given that most weddings happen at that time. DO NOT WORRY! You will be in GREAT hands! Ramon is SIMPLY amazing! And my standards are extremely high, given that I am a control freak!

2)  DO NOT HIRE THE PHOTOGRAPHER INCLUDED IN THE PACKAGE - Yes, with all Caps because I am yelling! After reading all the poor reviews they get, we decided to hire an outside photographer for our official photos, and just use the included photographer for the reception. I am not kidding when I say my 3 year old nephew could have done a much better job. Do not risk it, photos are forever!

3) Also, careful with the make up stylist they have at the Spa - The ladies are very sweet, but she had no idea how to even do the basic cat eye-liner, and I ended up with a horrible eye makeup! No kidding, at least 5mm eyeliner line! - No worries there, I just went to my room and redid the eyeliner.

4) The Tequila Terrace is the BEST place to have your reception - is WAY more private than the Tequila Beach, which is right next to the pool. I have several photos and many many more tips! I promise I will post something more detailed soon! In the meantime, if you have any questions, feel free to reply or send me a private message.

Hi Megan,

We had 17 people at our wedding, there were 12 chairs in total and it didn't look strange.  I have seen pictures online with two chairs and that also looked great.

I found it very hard to fill out the planning form because there was a lot I had not decided on.  I left a lot blank on the form and Ramon went over everything the day of our meeting.  He answered all of our questions and gave some great advice.  In this meeting he also went over all of the decorations that we brought and how we wanted them used for decorations.  They were exactly as I wanted them.

Try not to stress the small things.  The Now Sapphire does many weddings every week - they really know what they are doing.

Britt1125: Maybe I can help answer some questions not answered by Ramon or Anel.

What were your questions about the food?

When is your wedding?

Finally have my review up!

http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/index.php?app=reviews&module=reviews&section=reviews&do=view&id=4208

It's really long, but I wanted to be detailed for those of you starting this journey!  I don't know why but the quality of the embedded pictures is really poor!  The pictures are a mixture of the Resort Photographer and photos taken by my sister - Melissa Thompson Photography.  I was quite impressed with the resort photographer, there are a few pictures that I absolutely love!

Let me know if you have any questions or if I can give more information.

All the best,

Dina

I see some of you said you got responses by writing on the facebook page. Do you just mean the Now Sapphire facebook page? Or is there another one that Anel and Ramon look at?

I have been right on their Now Sapphire facebook page. Olivia Rodriguez is in charge of it and she will direct you to the right person!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
