I'm getting married on January 20th, 2014 and while i know this is in the not too distant future i'm starting to get really frustrated with the response time from Anel and Ramon. I've been their biggest advocate of just give them time to respond because they have so many people they have to deal with on top of doing up to 3 weddings a day. But I have been writing them with the same questions for 2 months now and i'm starting to get a bit pissed off. I've been very patient but have 60 people coming now and need to know things so that i can adjust my budget. So maybe you ladies can help me out! :)

1) has anyone been waiting this long to hear back from them and has anyone HEARD from them recently?

2) does anyone know how much it is for a kids menu and the age the child needs to qualify for the kids menu?

3) does anyone know the number of guest needed to qualify for the buffet? We want to spend more of our 3 hours dancing than waiting for a plated dinner but need to know whether we need a seating chart because if we qualify for the buffet it will save us the headache of making one up ( divorced families...i don't even want to start thinking of that!)

4) Does anyone know if they have car seats or stollers on the resort that people can use if they want to do a day trip anywhere or do people have to bring their own? On the baby note...does anyone know how people can sterilize bottles while down there?

I think thats everything that i can ask to you guys right now that you might be able to help with. I appreciate all the help i can get at this point and i hope they write me back soon!! haha

I would suggest calling them directly - it is way faster and more efficient this way.

Hello Past NOW Sapphire Brides!

We are most likely getting married May 2014 at NOW Sapphire. Just got off the phone with my fiance who is getting very concerned about the budget. Would any of you be able to personal message or email me at [email protected] to give me an overall budget for your wedding?

We are thinking about the divine or eternity package. I'm estimating about 75 guests, but I don't know if this is final.

I would appreciate ANY help! Thank you!

The package is decent with all the extras but when you go over the 25 people, its pretty expensive. The meal is $53+$5.83 tax + $7.95 service fee=$66.78; plus they charge $15 +$1.65 tax + $2.25=$18.90 for the open bar at the cocktail hour and they charge that $18.90 again per person for the Hor douvres and $5.04 per extra person for champagne toast for a grand total of $109.62 per extra person. The kids meals are $31.50 actually with the tax and service fee. The service fee looks like a 15% tip. I have no idea how the buffet would work for over 50 people but worth checking in to. The wedding food was great, and served very nicely and quickly. We had the option of two choices for the guests but didn't have time to ask what people wanted so stuck with one choice, the surf and turf. The Childs menu is a choice from 2 appetizers, 2 entrees, and 2 desserts. We ordered chicken fingers and French fries, fruit cocktail and ice cream, set up a kids table so the parents could enjoy their meal and a much as I hated to pay it, it worked out well. Another option is for the kids to go to the kids club and have dinner and a movie. I'd be happy to answer more questions and still plan to write a detailed summary after I recover!

I live down here in the Mayan Riviera, and a friend of mine does photography for around $1500. You may have to pay an outside vendor fee on top of that and I'm not sure how much that would be. Her name is Susana Hidalgo and her company is My Adorable Bridal - http://www.myadorablebridal.com

Here are a few photos she took at our wedding. She was a guest and only took her camera out during cocktail hour and the first dance to snap a few shots. I love them! :)

We were married in May at two small sister hotels in Tulum called Cabañas Tulum & The Beach Hotel. The restaurant is called El Bistro Ziggy Beach and that is where our reception and ceremony was. The cocktail hour was by the pool at The Beach Hotel. Tulum is south of Playa Del Carmen by about 45 mins. I have lots more info on both hotels, the venue and Susana from MyAdorableBridal.com if you want it! Just let me know :)

Has anyone heard from Anel or Ramon?  I know she was in a car accident 2 months ago, but someone should be responding to the emails and phone calls. I sent my last email to them today and if I don't here anything back by the end of the week then I am cancelling my wedding and booking at their sister resort. I've already started to inform my guests to prepare to get their money back. I'm a professional wedding planner and even if I was unable to respond to a "paying" client I would for surely have someone on my team respond on my behalf, this is very unprofessional and there is really no excuse for the lack of communication. I've been sending emails and calling since August 9th with no response.

We were at NOW last week and Anel is back and although she was supposed to be our coordinator and was in the Office, Ramon covered our wedding. She did attend though which may be a policy they have. I know its frustrating but we actually only had email contact with them once before we arrived. At the meeting 2 days prior to the wedding we went over the entire planning sheet and they were very accommodating for changes and things we had not filled out that we were questioning. Then a day before the wedding we had to move the time due to a flight delay and they were accommodating to that too. The resort is beautiful, our group of 48 had a great time and complimented us on our choice. I had some small issues that I'll address in my review and I think I have another phone number and email you can use to reach them, let me find those and get them back to you tomorrow.

I sent my planning form in last week and have not heard from either Anel or Ramon (sent it to both e-mail addresses).  Is this typical?  I'm not that worried, I just want to make sure that they have received it.  Any other brides have this happen?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
