Everyone seemed happy with their food and I loved having them on the dance floor. My brother and sister-in-law opted not to bring their young sons (2 and 4). They told us after that they deeply regretted it after seeing how great it worked out with the other kids. They were worried about leaving their kids with strangers but checked out the Explorer's Club and said that in retrospect they would have felt totally fine leaving them there.

We had 3 babies in our group under 1.5 year old. I ordered 2 kids menu for the oldest two, but they ate off their moms plate... A bit of a waste of money. I had picked their menu with their moms in advance. They were also sitting on their mom's lap or in their pram, high chairs were available nearby if needed. The 3rd baby was breasfed ;) way to go ! They should just make kids menu free anyway...

Hi Ladies,

Thanks for all the tips and details. I love this website because as we all know Anel is a very busy lady.

I do have a question for past and current brides if anyone did a welcome dinner? I was first thinking of just meeting at the Lobby bar after rehearsal and having people go wherever for dinner, but I'm no thinking dinner together might be nice. I think I really would be okay with just blocking off a section in the buffet even, but I think we would enjoy having everyone together before the big night.

Have a wonderful week ladies!

NS is a no reservation resort at any restaurant, so you can definitely do you casual dinner together at the buffet but you have to show up at the time you want to eat to get the tables pushed together. We did exactly that for 12 people, just our close family, since they had never met before. Show up we many people, not necessarily all of them. And go maybe just after after the rush hour.

I'm not married yet, January 2014 is coming soon tho! There are many reasons why we chose the Sapphire! One of the biggest reasons was the wedding packages! We looked into many resorts and they have so many more of the little things for the bride/groom that others don't...private dinner on the beach, couples massage, breakfast in bed the morning after wedding, bride getting hair/make-up done, etc. The actual wedding package for the ceremony and such is similar to others but its the little extras that stuck out! Of course its a beautiful resort! All the food seems to get great reviews! We def like to get our party on w/our fam/guests so it was big to us that they had a little bar/club for late night. It seems random if its busy or not, but we will have a group of 45 people so I'm sure we will be our own lil party on nites we decide to go lol!

I also have been having a hard time getting ahold of Anel. We are less than 4 months away now so really starting to get anxiety about some things I want to get figured out! I send her a few emails over a month ago and NO response yet. I did re-send them last week but still nothing. Are there any of you that have been able to chat w/her over the phone? If so, how did you go about setting that up??? We have decided to go w/an offsite photographer so that's done, but we are trying to figure out rehearsal dinner and some other important things yet...

Thanks!

My daughter chose Sapphire after we stayed there for a few days last summer. She loved the look of the resort and we believe that pictures will be amazing! Our room was very nice( we stayed in a tropical view and did not pay for preferred club) the food was good( as good as I've ever had at an all-inclusive), and it was only 15-20 minutes from the airport. I guess the thing that we really liked was how much the wedding packages included. I did a lot of research on resorts in the Riviera Maya and Sapphire won hands down.

She has since stayed at another resort that was on our list and came home and said it was nice, but she still loved Sapphire, so I guess we chose the right place!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
