I have a long time before I have to start planning out little details but am too excited and want to figure everything out!

I was wondering what past or future brides are doing about photography. I'm thinking I for sure want a photographer other than the resorts but we have a tighter budget so the gorgeous photos by delsol won't be an option either.. haha

Also I am wanting to order some flowers the resorts seem to be a little overpriced..

Congrats! My daughter has booked Oct. 25, 2014 and we feel the same way....can't wait to get started! She is getting ready to order save the dates... I let out a big sigh of relief when we finally got a confirmation! We are busy trying to figure out centerpieces that wont break the bank but will be easy to travel with.  She would like to use lanterns and flowers. I think we may take the lanterns and contact Lucy ( see past posts in this forum) about the flowers. I hear she is reasonable and does a great job. What are your colors?

Ladies,

Thank  you for the wonderful advice for extending the party and champagne toast.  I think we are going to just end the dance and go to the disco and let the party continue as long as my guests want and we could slip away. We have a 5pm ceremony so I think I want to have the champagne toast around 5:45 or so and cocktail hour start around 6-6:30. I guess the timeline is going to be the hardest thing for me as well.

As for the save the dates. I used vista print. We did a "Save the date & book a room" for our June 19, 2014 wedding. We wanted to give our guests enough time. With our TA we have deadline of October 1st to make a deposit of $100 per person. We did a website through the knot and my TA did a travel website. This way I can update my guests without having to send out emails all the time, but I think emails would work as well.

As for decorations, my family said they would be willing to set up the extras I bring along. Do they charge to set up like escort cards, table linens, centerpieces? Or can my family just do it with Ramon?

As for the videgrapher you get with the package, anyone have any more info? Just curious when they are around and for how long?

Welcome new comers!!

Yea how very exciting. Oct will be here before you know it too. I am still in the crazy, we are really doing this stage. We just got our "Save the Date & Book a Room" invites. That is going to be how we invite the small group to Mexico, not sooo small we hope 25-35 people come.

Good luck!

We're hoping to keep it at 25-30 ppl. Want it to be small, but beautiful! What are your colors? What are you doing for centerpieces? My daughter just picked her save the dates and we are getting ready to order them. Probably wont send them until the beginning of October.

We were lucky enough to be able to tay at Sapphire last summer for a few days and it is just as beautiful as the pictures!

Thank You! We ended up deciding to skip the save the dates- I really wanted them but I figured it was money to be saved and just do invites right away with all the info so everyone can start saving or booking.. I'm really having trouble figuring out centerpieces so once you find something you should let me in on what you are going with.. I love the tall cylinder vases with water and flowers in it but have no clue how I would get them to Mexico without them possibly breaking. We are going with a turquoise blue and purple theme. What are your colors?

She is going with coral and gray...it will be pretty, but it's hard to find things in the coral. She wants to use lanterns and flowers in her centerpieces. I haven't really started looking for the lanterns yet. I'm sure that will end up being my job! The cylinder vases are really pretty, but you're right. Hard to get down there without breaking. Your colors will be beautiful....and pretty easy to find!

For the ladies considering extending their receptions - It isn't worth it. We moved to the lobby bar and there was live music and then people went to the disco as well. It was awesome to have all of the guests at the resort come and wish us the best and the atmosphere was fun!

Zeman321,

My colors are that aqua teal right now and maybe pink accents. I want to have my MOL and aunt sew some table runners that we will bring down. I also found mini buckets for a $1 at Target that I want to fill with sand and put in photos of our trips instead of table numbers. Then I think instead of a photo booth I want to bring a Polaroid camera as my guest book. Besides that mine and my girls bouquets are going to be centerpieces, but that's it. I want the view to be the decorations and I want to keep things simple and elegant.

My sister in law's brother stayed there and said it was wonderful too. I would love to go early, but limited budget. The surprise and excitement will be going down.

CAmomofbride,

So I know we have had this discussion before, but you can pick not just one entree for the dinner? I guess I didn't understand what people meant. Sounded like you needed to have a seating chart if you have different entrees. Can you have two or three entrees? I might email Anel and see what she says. We have some picky eaters as well.

Thanks

Sounds beautiful! Yeah, it's easy to get caught up in a lot of extra stuff that you really don't need. I would like to keep my daughters wedding uncluttered, but beautiful. I think We're going to make a book on Shutterfly of pictures of the two of them since they've known each other and leave large borders for guests to sign as their guest book. We're going to do chair sashes and maybe table runners, not sure yet.

You will not be disappointed with the resort. It is beautiful!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
