I'm a newbie to the thread, I just sent off my wedding date request today for June 2014. I am hoping to hear soon from Anel and my TA we can start getting our group bookings. I was curious how people picked their own room. We were thinking ocean front, any preferences?

Thanks!

Wondering how long it took you to hear back from the resort. We sent the request and deposit info last week and still haven't heard back. I sent it through our TA and she is having trouble getting a response from the hotel. I guess maybe the holiday got in the way on this end?

Hello ladies! I am getting married April 2014. I was wondering what decor/flowers brides have been using from resort and what they have been bringing on their own? Any advice would help!
I'm planning on getting flowers from a local florist lucy_cancun@hotmail.com I'm getting 4 smaller centerpieces (I want them low to the table so people can see each other etc) and 3 white bridesmaids bouquets and they're being delivered all for $200!! I want to avoid bringing too much because of baggage fees plus I'd rather not have to stress about things the day of. Other brides have avoided the outside vendor fees by meeting her at the gate. Other brides have used her and her flowers are really beautiful! She's pretty good about communication although the translation gets confusing. I'm fluent in Spanish and English and her English emails are much more difficult to understand. I know the divine and eternity have one centerpiece that come with it. I plan on using that one in the center of my long table and then two from the local florist on each side. Good luck!

I am taking the majority of my items to keep costs lower. I got chair sashes online for .55 cents a sash and overlays for the tables. I made little out of town bags for guests that will include any information they need, sunglasses, koozies, and some other little things. I made all my centerpieces, program fans and also made maracas. I have battery operated starfish lanterns as others have said real yea lights will not stay lite because of the wind. It does get breezy at night. Our groomsmen all have starfish bout. And the bridesmaid have silk white calla Lillie's. I will try and attach some pictures of some things I've made. Everything I made will fit in one suitcase and am also going to put a few items in some relatives that have a little extra room in their checked bags.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
