I am acutely going through the resort and getting three centerpiece from devine package. I was going to make my own but I don't want to lug them down or have them break. We have 20 people coming and doing one large table. Trying to finish OOT bags now.

Wh

I have a question. I am making up my invites now for April. I have already sent out my save the dates and have 46 people booked. Im sending out invites this week but im not sure when to have my rsvp date. i have heard a families saying they want to book last minute but i am wanting to know my number for cost reasons and i want to get my favors and decorations finished. I have planned for a few extras just in case some do show up last minute. but families can change my numbers quite a bit. Is it too short to have it back for Feb 28? My wedding is April 8 and we leave on the 5th. Also for location are you guys putting Riviera Maya, Mayan Riviera or Puerto Morelos? Thanks for your input  [/quote when I got married there my RSVP was like 4-6 months from the date . People should know by then if there flying or not. I had a travel agent with deadlines and wanted all my favors and things done

So are most of you gals doing table decor/ table runners? I guess I hadn't thought that far... (We are getting married April 6th so now its crunch time:)

I didn't want to bring that much down there... but I don't want the tables to look bare OR pay an arm and leg for the resort to do it! Those who have purchased table decor/ table runners, where did you get them? Any help would be appreciated!!:)

I am just doing chair sashes. I went through www.weddinglinensdirect.com. I just ordered them Jan. 2nd and I received them by the 5th. I didn't think they were bad pricing either. I guess it depends on what you are doing for centerpieces. My ceneterpieces have a mirror and gems around it and I thought that was enough. Or I was going to get table runners.

Im getting Married April 8th!

i bought chair sashes and a few extra for decor around the guest signing book and maybe to be used on the tables if needed. if you can get a hold of lucy flowers she is reasonable in prices. much more than the rest of them out there. her email is lucy_cancun@hotmail.com

but she is hard to get a hold of. i am having table numbers and am thinking of centerpieces now as well. The resort charges a fortune for any extras and the resort florist is way too pricy. i have toyed with the thought of bringing my own down but not sure if i want to go there.

Hi Ladies,

I am wondering if anyone can help me about the cost of a DJ.  I've looked on the wedding guide but can't find any information.  Does the resort have a DJ?  Could anyone give me a price?

I've also heard that you have to rent a speaker system if you want to bring an IPod and play your own music.  Can anyone verify these for me?

I know that I have read about renting the speaker system, I just can't remember if I read it in this thread or not.

Any help would be great.

Thanks!

Dina

Hi Dina, It's $350 an hour through the resort and you do have rent speaker equipment if use an ipod. If you go to the resort website and upload wedding brochure all the prices/extras are in there and wedding coordinator should email you stuff. We are going with discomovil (they have reviews on the blog under DJs). It's still cheaper to pay vender fee and use outside DJ than go with resorts. However we did get under his 2012 prices, so may have raised them for 2013. Hope that helps. Best, Emily

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
