joda~

Thanks for posting those! Your pictures are beautiful, and I think your hair and makeup came out really well. I also have fine/thin hair :( but I'm going to wear my hair down, so how badly can someone mess that up??

We are using Adrian from Victor Herrera Photography ~ we really liked Del Sol too, but I think they were a bit more expensive.

What was your wedding date??

Thank you! I am so happy with our pictures. I have seen some of Adrian's work though, and I love his stuff. I love the way he captures the light in his photos. Are you doing a Trash the Dress session as well? Our wedding date was March 24, so a bit earlier than yours, but not much. We were lucky and had beautiful weather the whole week we were there. Hopefully it will be the same for you!

As for your hair, wearing it down will make things easier. I actually had them do it down for our TTD photos, and I liked how it turned out as well. The only thing you may want to bring is some heavy duty hairspray. I brought some and used it because I felt like the stuff they used wasn't strong enough, at least for the wind we had.

Here are some pics from the TTD for you to check out (I did my own make-up on this day though):

Thanks for the tip on the hairspray!! As far as a TTD, I'm not sure what we are going to do. At this point we aren't really making too many decisions until we have a better idea of how many people we are going to have! Our guest list is huge, well by destination wedding standards it is huge (my fiance's mom is one of 9 - all married with kids) ~ and a lot of people are saying they are going to come. But we'll see how many actually book! I'm still on the fence about whether I want to "trash" my anyway ~ LOL! But they do make for really cool pictures!

Does anybody have any advice regarding whether or not to use a TA?? We have been in touch with one of the TA's from this forum (Teresa) and she has been great! We are just waiting for the contract for the room block to come back from the resort (Now Sapphire). Today however, I was looking at some online travel sites and it looks like booking a "Flight & Hotel" package is less expensive (by between $70-$100) than if guests book the hotel through the TA and their flights separately......................has anybody else run into this?? I'm super confused about what to do now.

For anybody who booked their rooms through an online travel site where there any additional hotel taxes that you had to pay once you arrived that weren't included in the Travelocity, Expedia, Hotels.com, etc. pricing??

Thanks for any suggestions on this. We are really trying to be conscious of making this trip as affordable as possible for our guests.

I have 2 different travel agents looking into prices for me. I figured this was easier than trying to coordinate everything myself. I'll let you know when I get the quotes.

When you reserved your date did you need all the travel information? I've been holding off submitting my form because it asks for room reservations, travel agent information etc but I don't have any of that yet. Can you go ahead without that information for now?

Thanks

I know that the prices we received from our TA also included roundtrip transfers to the airport.  We also received a free room for every 6 booked or something like that... So those are deals that you would not receive though Expedia, and such.  WE just had everyone book their flights on their own, one guy did have the travel agent book his flight but I just put down $100 per room and reserved 25 rooms.

I had the same question about this. And we were able to send in the deposit request and secure a date without having all of this information :) And I'll keep my eye out for your quotes!! Thanks!

Hi girls! My fiance and I are getting married at Now Sapphire in September. We chose the complimentary package (your moments package) because it will just be the two of us. I know we will need to pay for witnesses, but has anyone else picked this package? Are there any surprise fees I should know about? I already know I would like to have my hair done at the salon the day of the wedding, does anyone have an idea of what this may cost? Also, the only other extra I would like is a photographer. I know you can add one on to any package ala carte style, has anyone done this? Thank you :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
