Now Sapphire Weddings Formerly Paradisus Riviera

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

This website and all of you have been so helpful as I plan for my June 2, 2012 wedding at NOW Sapphire. (I can't believe it is so close!)  I plan to write a complete post, from planning to the big day, once we return.

In the meantime, I have a few unanswered questions. I'd appreciate any insight any of you have to offer:

1. Are the slats on the Tequila Terrace so large that heels will actually fall in? I noticed that some past brides were planning to wear flats but if I wear heels am I really risking it?

2. Is there an overhang on the Tequila Terrace? I have a bunch of paper lanterns that I want to hang.

3. Did they charge you for EVERY little detail? We are bringing our own bows (we got them for just $.59 each!), table runners, centerpieces, paper lanterns, candles, etc. Will they charge us to put all of this out?

4. We'd like to get our stuff back. Did any of you bring your own things (like centerpieces, candles, etc.) and if so, were they returned to you?

5. I noticed that some brides at NOW Jade provided their wedding planner with a "map" of how they'd like the area laid out. Did any of you do this? Was it necessary? If you didn't do this do you feel like the wedding team at NOW Sapphire was able to "see your vision" for your day?

6. Some past Tequila Terrace brides have mentioned that wedding parties and guests from the Beach Terrace cut through their area. Is there a way to prevent this from happening? I know there is another wedding on June 2.

7. What do you WISH you'd done that you overlooked or didn't even know was an option?

Thank you!

T.

Hi all, It's been a while since I've posted on this forum but I was wondering if anyone has Ramon as their wedding planner at the resort. My wedding is on May 18th and I haven't been receiving responses to my emails for a month. He hasn't even confirmed that he received my planning form. Does anyone else have this issue? Thanks, May

I am getting married on May 19, 2012 and would love these answers!

The only one I am sure of is the slates. Opt for a smaller heel because it will ruin your shoe!  I am bringing alot of my decorations as well. Ramon has not mentioned if there is an extra fee...

I know it took me a little while to hear from Anel and I was surprised that when I did hear from her that she never received my planning form so I got that sent again.  She did confirm that she received it and also sent me back confirmation of the private transfers...

Our taxi is picking us up at 4:45 AM tomorrow and we should be at Now Sapphire around 1ish.

Hi everyone, This website and all of you have been so helpful as I plan for my June 2, 2012 wedding at NOW Sapphire. (I can't believe it is so close!)  I plan to write a complete post, from planning to the big day, once we return. In the meantime, I have a few unanswered questions. I'd appreciate any insight any of you have to offer: 1. Are the slats on the Tequila Terrace so large that heels will actually fall in? I noticed that some past brides were planning to wear flats but if I wear heels am I really risking it? They are wide enough that I think you could wedge a heel in and possibly break your shoe, or worse, twist your ankle. If you want height, I would wear a wedge. 2. Is there an overhang on the Tequila Terrace? I have a bunch of paper lanterns that I want to hang. Where do you want to hang them exactly? They have a covered area at the end that is usually used as the "dance floor" they could easily be hung from there. Otherwise I think they need to string them up and across the reception tables. I have seen photos of this, but I am not sure exactly what they do, or what they may charge for that, if anything. 3. Did they charge you for EVERY little detail? We are bringing our own bows (we got them for just $.59 each!), table runners, centerpieces, paper lanterns, candles, etc. Will they charge us to put all of this out? We were not charged for the times we brought that they put out. And we had our own chair ribbons, maracas for ceremony, guest book stuff, frames for place cards, favors, table runner and battery operated candles. 4. We'd like to get our stuff back. Did any of you bring your own things (like centerpieces, candles, etc.) and if so, were they returned to you? As mentioned above, yes, and we also had our own cake servers and cake topper. We got it all back. 5. I noticed that some brides at NOW Jade provided their wedding planner with a "map" of how they'd like the area laid out. Did any of you do this? Was it necessary? If you didn't do this do you feel like the wedding team at NOW Sapphire was able to "see your vision" for your day? The area really sort of works one way the best, so I don't think you would need to do that, but they will go over it all with you at the planning meeting. Ramon was awesome about putting everything out how I wanted it. I had pictures of the things important to me, other things I left up to him and it all turned out beautifully. 6. Some past Tequila Terrace brides have mentioned that wedding parties and guests from the Beach Terrace cut through their area. Is there a way to prevent this from happening? I know there is another wedding on June 2. Maybe people cut through? I actually don't know. If people did, it obviously did not bother me! 7. What do you WISH you'd done that you overlooked or didn't even know was an option? I actually don't think there was anything except that maybe I would have liked to extend our reception for another hour (we did the standard 3) as it all went by so quickly. Everything else was perfect. Thank you! T.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
