I have more than a year too, which is crazy to think about, but I know it will fly!

How long did it take to hear back from the wedding coordinator (Anel) with confirmation of the wedding date after you sent in the wedding reservation form and deposit? My deposit hasn't been withdrawn from my account yet.

Amy-

Your pictures are beautiful!  Thanks for the "Tips" you had about the Preferred Lounge.  I have asked my travel agent some questions about that same thing, and she didn't have any answers for me.  So thank you!  Sounds like you just have to be persistent with them to get what you were promised!

I am bringing your "tips" down there with me just so I don't forget all your good info!

How was the wait at the "sit down" restaurants when you were there?  Besides men having to wear long pants, do they have to wear closed toe shoes as well, or are flip flops ok?

Was check in easy for you and your guests?

How was the weather when you were there?

Hi HeatherViolet,

Thank you!!  :-)

Yes, I would definitely recommend being persistent with the items that are important to you.

I had a group of 25 with me and so for us what worked best was that the majority of us would meet up in the lobby at a specific time then certain groups of people discussed where they wanted to go eat and then they put their names in and how many they needed to be seated.  Some couples went off on their own and others dined in groups.  Most of the restaurants have those light up pager things so after you put your name in you can go back to the huge lobby and grab a drink at the bar or grab a seat and relax.  I'd say for a table of 2 to 4 we waited no more than 20 - 25 minutes...for a table of over 5 we probably waited around 45 minutes.  Time flew by and waiting was never an issue especially since everyone was always getting to know one another.  Sometimes we got lucky and got right in.  7:30 to 8:30 seemed to be the busiest times at the restaurants (they open at 6:00pm).

Men definitely have to wear long pants (jeans are fine) at the French Restaurant (Paramour) and the Mediterranean (Cibu).  I dont think they can wear flip flops, but they can wear sandals........but they should be majority closed at the toe part.  Some of our guests did get denied because of the dress code so they just had to go back and change.  It's only the two restaurants though that are strict on those rules, the others are not.

Check in for us was just annoying because they didn't understand our reservation and the fact that we wanted to be upgraded.  For other guests I think it was easy but it just took a while....and of course after you are traveling all that way the smallest things may irritate you until you can relax.   :-)

The weather was absolutely gorgeous!!!!   I am sooooo happy I picked this time of the year.  I think it rained for 4 minutes the whole 10 days I was there.  :-)

Hi maytai5dh2,

You're Welcome!!!

I got my bridal bouquet through the resort....it was the one included in my wedding package.  I brought the bridesmaids bouquets down with me.  I purchased the flowers at a wholesale place and put them together when we got there.  They were actually fake but looked very, very real....I don't think anyone even noticed that they were fake.  :-))))

When I reserved, Anel wasn't there it was a someone else and she got back to me within 2 to 3 days I think.  If you don't hear back I would just resend it.

Has anyone used the ipod for the cocktail hour/reception? We do not have an ipod, but I recently won an ipad and would like to use that.  Does anyone know if we're allowed to use an ipad? My concern is that the hotel is docking the ipod.  If they're hooking it up to a computer, it should not be a problem.

I am sure someone will respond with the answer to that question as I have read that many people have used it and I am planning on using it for the cocktail hour as well.

If you have an AUX cable I am sure the Ipad would still work even with the docking station.  Most docking stations that have the "Apple"

input will also have an AUX input.

Vanessa56,

I used an IPod for the ceremony and cocktail party but I didn't take notice of what they used.

RFinger's response below about the cable sounds like a good idea!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
