Hi Amy,

Thanks, yes having a great time!! Not sure if they were supposed to, but they upgraded us to a Preferred oceanfront room -- very sweet!! The resort is really nice, and so far, we haven't had bad food at all. But this is my first all-inclusive so maybe I just have nothing to compare it to.

As for 'substitutions', I didn't ask for any specific ones, other than using the resort photog at our welcome dinner tonight instead of at the wedding, since I have hired an outside one. They were more than fine with that, so I think if you can keep it along the same lines they may go for that (like no hair/make-up maybe a facial or something spa-related, etc).

I will say they seem more relaxed and lenient once you get here and go over your planning form in your meeting. If you can have that filled out very well, with picture samples pasted in the document, that will make things go smoothly. There are some things that I had thought were more expensive than what they ended up charging me, and Ramon did some work-arounds to save me some money -- in all we are $1000 under my estimate, although that doesn't include extending the reception by an hour (~$350-400). We decided to leave that off for now, and see how the party is going - if we can move to the lobby or night club, or go ahead and decide to extend at the time.

Hope that helps!

My main question is are they allowing any 'substitutuions' in the packages if you don't need a specific item....like hair, minister/officiant, etc.

Other than that I figured when I have a question I will email Anel.  Thanks!!!

Ah, nice, glad we missed out on the snow! Hopefully it's melted by the time we get back *fingers crossed*. Or maybe we should just stay here! cool.gif

82turtles, when we were there for our friends wedding we moved to Eclipse and it was a BLAST!  Just make sure they are going to open (even though the sign says they will be open) they weren't going to until we invaded the place!  We had a great time!!  Congrats and good luck.  The wedding we went to was gorgeous!!

Hi fellow brides!  I'm getting in married at Now Jade resort April 6th, but I'm hoping to find another bride getting married April 4th, 7th, or 8th who still needs a photographer.  I'm planning on bringing Sara Gray but she said that if I can find another wedding for her to shoot while she's in Mexico then she'll give us both a great deal.  PM me if you want more details!  http://www.saragrayphotography.com/ She's been featured on some of my favorite blogs...style me pretty, wedding chicks, grey likes weddings, etc

Has anyone had a problem with the original "booking date" of your wedding?  I am currently having some issues with the resort.

I filled out my paperwork and was promised a month and a half ago that my wedding was set for May 25th, 2012... Beach Ceremony and Tequilla Terrace for the reception at 4:00.  NOW... I am told that there is another wedding party on the Tequilla Terrace so I have to move my reception to the Beach Terrace.  I am not sure where the other bride is having her ceremony, but I know it is an hour after mine.

Isn't their "rule" you will never see another bride on your wedding day?  I am really confused and upset by all of this.  Wondering if anyone else has had any issues like this, or if it is just me. cry.gif

Does anyone know how far apart the Tequilla Terrace is from the Beach Terrace?

Suggestions?!?!?

Hi HeatherViolet,

I booked my wedding back in February and when the new coordinators took over recently I confirmed my date/time/location with them to make sure...She did confirm it so I was okay, but I did hear from others that their booking date got screwed up.

I was told they can have up to two weddings per day maximum, but the actual ceremonies would never be at the exact same time...perhaps an hour apart..  I was warned that it's possible I may see only one other bride.  Since other resorts tend to have a reputation of being a 'wedding factory', I was okay with this.  There are two beach ceremony locations based on where your reception location is.  If your reception is on the Tequila Terrace then your beach ceremony would be on the beach in front of the deck steps.  If your ceremony is on the Beach Terrace then your beach ceremony would be on the beach by the beach entrance closer to the pool.

I actually booked the Beach Terrace, it is located on the concrete area closer to the pool but right in front of the beach entrance.  From what I hear from other girls on here, it is far enough away from the Tequila Terrace so when two receptions are going on at the same time you won't even notice.

Unfortunately I don't have any suggestions for you, I do feel bad that you have to have this stress in planning.  Are you going to stick with your planned date still?  I only hope that I don't have any 'curve balls' such as this thrown at me as my date gets closer.  :-/

I am new to posting, but I thought I could share some insight. I just recently was at NOW Sapphire for vacation and as a possible wedding site.  There were many weddings going on while I was there.  The tequila terrace and the beach terrace are not far from each other.  Just separated by a walkway and the outside restaurant.  I witnessed two weddings around the same time both at those spots.  I do not think the brides could see each other because the beach terrace is farther back than the beach.  One thing you might want to consider about tequila terrace is that it is surrounded by three restaurants which will be open during your reception.  We actually sat 20ft from a reception one night outside.  The other restaurants our inside, but have lots of windows. The weddings were both beautiful that day, but were going on at the same time.  One reception on the beach and one on the terrace.  They both had DJ's, but the sound did not interfere (I think because of the wind).  Let me know if you have anymore questions.  I will post some pictures soon.  I took a lot of the different sites and weddings.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
