Since we live in the city, I love it when the two of us head about an hour north of here to the Ouachita Mountains for a leisurely drive... we'll burn a new CD of music to listen to, then head up there in the evening and sit in one of the parks, looking at the stars and just talking. Just like teenagers, but without the sex in the backseat! :)

Another thing we love to do is pack up some food in a picnic basket and head to one of the lakes for an afternoon. We usually wind up on a dock or pier somewhere with him fishing and me reading a book to him.

(this weekend we're heading to the lake--- he'll fish and I'll play with my new CAMERA! :) YEA!!!!!

Maria I love yours! So fun :o)

For us, inexpensive date night is the beach. We bring blankets and goodies or eat beach food (garlic & clam pizza by the slice...yum-o). The sunsets out here are gorgeous and you can stay on most beaches until 9pm. If we go to the beach at Santa Monica we ride a ride or two which isn't a lot of $$ either. There's another beach where you can have bonfires, all free stuff except for parking and food. In the daytime we go to a lake in the middle of the city that we stumbled upon one day. You can rent pedal boats for like $8 and cruise around. Then we buy lunch in the park - grilled hot dogs wrapped in bacon and corn on the cob Mexican style....mmm Boats and lunch come to like $20. Now that's a cheap date :P

We also have a favorite park where we hike to the top with wine and munchies then watch the sunset over L.A. I guess ours mostly involve sunsets...lol. There is always Hollywood Video & Thai night which is inexpensive fun at home. And board game night...we love Scrabble & Clue. If we're feeling saucy we walk around our neighborhood....a stroll down Hollywood Blvd. is free and very entertaining...lol

Well no inexpensive date night for me, I love dinner out. This is my very favourite thing to do, a nice restauraunt, great food, a good wine. I can sit and drink red wine for hours, then we like to dance, and on the way home we always stop and have backseat sex, or front seat sex, or outside sex, or....

Lol! Kelly....so the sex in the backseat part of the date would be your low cost date idea? lol.

Jay and I love going to Mass MoCa, a modern art museum in the Berkshires (Mass.). The drive there is so pretty at any time of the year. Viewing the art spurs lots of great conversations.

I also love dress up night! OK not that kind of dress up. Every once in a while we will get dressed up (tight dress and heels for me) for either dinner out or a candle lit dinner in.

And we love going to the free concerts and festivals in our area.

The backseat sex is a vital in our relationship because we have 5 children privacy is always an issue. Therefore we came up with a way to ensure that this part of our life is not lacking.

If the kids are away Everton and I love to cook dinner together, and drink wine of course, and then we also love to dance with each other. I guess this would be the cheaper version of my favourite ting to do, lol.

But if it's a date night, hard to find the time for that in my very crazy houshold, damnit, I don't want to cook!!, lol

Pete and I love to go to pottery places. The ones where everything is premade, and you paint. We are not artists by any means, but it is still a good time. We also love to camp, so we try to camp at a new place at least once a month. Our local Mexican restaurant is our favorite place to go. We are there so often, everyone knows us.

we do a date night or day once a week. most recently we have been doing theme dates, our current theme is cultural so we picked 8 areas of the world we want to learn about and then we seek out things to do that are eye-opening, interesting, entertaining or just fun.

some examples that we have done are:

Japan

(we went to the Cherry Blossom Festival, an authentic Japanese street food restaurant, looked up interesteding facts about Japan (like we found out that the country produces NO natural resources) and watched a documentary about Japanese culture)

Brazil

(went to see a live band (Alo Brasil) they are awesome - it is like Samba and Carnival with amazing music, went to a Brazilian steakhouse for dinner and watched a show about Brazilian food on TV)

there are so many possibilities with this one....

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
